Let’s start with a couple of basic truths as follows: Coveting is one root of moral failure. Comparison is the root of coveting. Let’s look at some examples from the Holy Bible. ACHAN “But the children of Israel committed a trespass regarding the accursed things, for Achan the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed things; so the anger of the Lord burned against the children of Israel.” The children of Israel had just experienced a tremendous victory at Jericho (their first battle after crossing the Jordan River into the Promised Land). They decided at their next battle, which would be at Ai, that they take lots less men to battle because they had learned from spies sent out that the people of Ai were few. However the Israelites suffered terrible defeat at Ai. Joshua fell on his face and cried out to the LORD. God answered him, “For they have even taken some of the accursed things, and have both stolen and deceived; and they have also put it among their own stuff.” “There is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you.” Joshua called out (through revelation) the tribes, families, clans and households in the camp of Israel. It was found that Achan had taken a beautiful Babylonian garment, two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels and hid them in the ground in the middle of his tent. He had taken the “accursed things” that belonged to God. Notice that in the original Hebrew―and depending on the context―what is “devoted to God” is “accursed to man” when stolen from God. So all Israel took Achan―with his sons, daughters, animals and tent … and the “accursed things” he had stolen―and burned them with fire after they had stoned them. ACHAN LUSTED AND STOLE FROM GOD EVE AND ADAM In the Garden of Eden, Eve was tempted by Satan. God had instructed Adam: “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Satan tempted Eve to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which she did. “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.” NOTICE THIS: You can talk to God. He understands the situation. Ask Him for help. When you are tempted with coveting or lust, learn to say to the LORD, “Jesus, do you want to do this with me?” And, if you can’t ask that question—or feel uncomfortable asking it—then you know NOT to perform the action. Just because it feels good—or looks good—does NOT make it good. In Genesis 3:6 we read that Eve thought the fruit was:
But in 1 John 2:16 we read that, “For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.” And in verse 17, “And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” EVE AND ADAM DISOBEYED GOD … OBEYED SATAN … ANANIAS & SAPPHIRA When the Holy Spirit was poured out on Jesus’ followers—on the Jewish Holiday of Pentecost—the people in the Early Church decided to have all things in common and share their goods in community with one another. They were so happy that the promised Messiah had come to pay for their sins on the cross-stake and was raised from the dead after three days. They were ALL Jews who followed Him … plus maybe a few unkown Gentiles. “Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.” (Acts 2:44) “Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.” (Acts 4:32) “Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.” (Acts 4:34-35) But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. Andhe kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him. Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. And Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?” She said, “Yes, for so much.” Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.” Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband. So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things. Ananias and his wife, Sapphira,coveted the praise of others and fell prey to the pride of life. They wanted to compare themselves with the other believers—to be seen as sharing in like manner—while holding back part of the price of the land they sold. They did NOT even have to give the price of the land …it was theirs … but they wanted to look like the others who were sharing 100% … and therefore they lied to the Holy Spirit. ANANIAS AND HIS WIFE COVETED THE PRAISE OF MEN SUMMARY It’s easy to see that coveting and lust are bedpartners. It’s also easy to discern that the antidote―basically, the solution―to COVETING is contentment. “Now godliness with contentment is great gain.” “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have.” The other bedpartner―LUST―can actually be removed with a good dose of faithfulness and self-control. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, Coveting and lust are basically stealing: wanting what is another’s. There are, also, some other areas of coveting that are often overlooked. Coveting can involve stealing from God. Stealing the glory―or the credit―that belongs to Him. Lack of respect for your neighbor … or another person or entity. Doing what Satan does: desiring to be like God. When Eve desired the fruit of the (forbidden) tree to make one wise, she was the same as attempting to sit in God’s throne. TAKE YOUR MEDICINE: REMEMBER: THE KEY: HELP FOR YOU: “Lord Jesus, I need help. I know you’re there. Please save me and forgive my sins.

DESCRIPTION OF THIS TEACHING
Why do the media and politicians use the “race” tag to stir up more angst? The answer―again: “It’s the money, stupid!” Politicians get votes … the media get advertising clicks. But in this podcast teaching we will look “beyond the veil” and discover a more subtle force―a demonic agent―with an assignment direct from the pit of Hell.
It is my personal belief that this assignment from Satan is threefold:
1. To escalate conflict among people groups in society; and,
2. To produce deterioration in YOUR human spirit and psyche, thereby weakening you from within and reducing your productivity, health and success.
3. To exacerbate tension among entities (including intranational and municipal) as part of the preparation for the coming world leader: the False Messiah.
We will examine the sinews of “microaggression” which is the soft underbelly of socialization and political correctness―facilitating weakness―and define a more accurate and perfect solution.

GOD IS NOT COLOR BLIND
Have you ever asked a person, “So, what are you … really?”
I asked a relative to check out a property near them for a friend of mine. My friend just wanted to know the layout and condition of the property. My relative said, “Blacks have migrated there.” I told my relative, “Don’t plan on going to Heaven because LOTS of Blacks have migrated there.”
Having been a pastor of an all Black church years ago (I was the only White person there), I find such statements really denigrating. “Microagression” is generally defined as “Communication of hostile, derogatory, or negative racial slights and insults toward people of color.” However, I would include insults against white people, also. Microagression can sometimes be communicated in a subtle manner so that the person initiating the conversation may not realize the effect―and may actually be unaware of any hurt effected.
I have found that when the LORD gives you a great love or compassion for a certain segment of society, the enemy of your soul (Satan) will always find some member of that group to hurt you or offend you in some way. It is simply an attempt to get you to stop helping―serving―that segment of society. We have to be mature enough to realize the source of the attack … to see behind the veil.
Physiological color blindness is an abnormal condition characterized by the inability to clearly distinguish different colors of the spectrum. It’s interesting that Scripture identifies Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) as the Son of God and as the Light of the World. The light spectrum is the band of colors produced when sunlight is passed through a prism―and from which mixing of the colors can produce any color.
AN AFRICAN SAVED A PROPHET’S LIFE
“Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin;
Ebedmelech went forth out of the king’s house, and spoke to the king saying,
‘My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city.’
Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, ‘Take from here thirty men with you, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he dies.’
So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took from there old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.
And Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, ‘Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under your armpits under the cords.’ And Jeremiah did so.
So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.” (Ezekiel 38:7-13)
AN AFRICAN SAVED THIS PROPHET’S LIFE
When I was just about to throw in the towel―thinking my life was about over and nobody knowing about it―an African that I had ordained into the ministry contacted me from overseas and told me: “God wants you to fast for three days, eating only after 7 PM. I will fast for and with you, also. Ask God for ONE THING and tell me but do NOT tell anyone else.” At the end of three days―on the start of the fourth day I was perfectly healed.
A HISPANIC MAN SAVED MY LIFE
I was in the hospital after being stabbed by two men. A nurse was stationed at my bedside 24 hours while I had four tubes running in and out of my body. After coming to consciousness I asked God to send someone to lay hands on me and pray for me. A Hispanic man who did NOT know me―but had heard about me being stabbed―came into the 2500 room hospital and into my room on the ninth floor. He told me, “God raised me from the dead one time and He has sent me to pray for you that you may be healed.” He laid his hands on my head and prayed, “Lord Jesus, heal my brother.” A short while later he walked out of the room and left. I walked out of that hospital healed a few days later. (I could have left earlier but doctors wanted to observe me to make sure of the MIRACLE.) I have tried to reach Hispanics with the Good News since then.
ASIANS HAVE HELPED ME
I was leaving seminary during my graduate studies as I did NOT have the money to pay my tuition. On my last walk through I stopped at my mail box in the lobby to check the mail. In it was a check from Chinese Christians that covered my expenses. That was years ago but I have tried to reach China with the Good News since then. Between five to seven percent of my website hits come from China.
JEWISH PEOPLE HAVE HELPED ME
I have been helped in so many ways by Jewish People … with money, food, friendship, counsel, support … and in ministry. Not only in Israel but also in the USA. I have been offered great opportunities by Jewish People, not only from Israel but from other places. I have profited much from personal contact and relationships with Jews. And this does NOT even take into consideration what I have received from the Jewish Scriptures … and a Jewish Messiah: my LORD.
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE THAT OFFENSE WILL NOT COME
I have been blessed by all different races … and colors of people. I have also been offended by all different races … and colors of people. It’s time to grow up. If we claim to be God’s People, we need to SEE others as God sees them. We need to be color blind … or, conversely, to see the beauty of color: the beauty of the spectrum which God has created. We know scientifically that white is a balance of color, whereas black is the absence of light (and hence of color). However, God has created them all for His enjoyment. So … WHY do we not at times enjoy them? The answer: because of SIN.
Satan is the chief hater and the father of racism. The devil is the the divider and attempts to use people AND demons to build walls between mankind. We need to be spiritually discerning―to recognize the attacks of the enemy―and to build bridges of fellowship. This is only possible through the Holy Spirit. And … it is easy to accomplish IF we CHOOSE to do so. The KEY here is CHOICE. Your choice influences your brain and your future … and the future of successive generations: in your family line as well as humankind.
Jesus taught us:
“It is impossible but that offenses will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!” (Luke 17:1)
Rabbi Shaul declared to the Athenians at Mars Hill:
“And [God] has made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us.” (Acts 17:26-27)
IT’S A MATTER OF CHOICE
So―it is easy to determine that it all depends on CHOICE―and whether we want to PLEASE our Heavenly Father. Many years ago I started publishing the Good News in several languages so that I, by God’s grace, could reach “all nations of men” that dwell upon the earth. God’s family is beautiful … and when we realize that it is OUR family we begin to see its beauty. The world would surely be dull if everything and everyone were the same. Pray … make that CHOICE today: that you will be an instrument of love through whom people of every color can SEE Jesus!

In this podcast teaching you will learn what happened when Prince Handley went to a Scientology center to help a Scientology Volunteer Minister … and what came out of the Scientology worker’s mouth when demons spoke through him.

This teaching will protect you from the vicious cult of Scientology and, also, help you to be more empowered by God’s love.

ROOF OF SILENCE & THE CULT OF SCIENTOLOGY
LOVE IS THE GREATEST OF THESE
So many times we hear psychologists, and others, say that it is not good to keep things pent up inside us; that is, we need to express our opinions or views. They teach that we are to express ourselves outwardly and openly.
As a young minister preaching in the open air in large metropolitan cities in different countries, I would sometimes cross paths with people bound by Satan who were involved in the dangerous cult of Scientology.
They would have their disciples go out into public places and do and say foolish things to release―“purge” or “clear” them―of inner regressions.
One day I went―at the request of friends―to a Scientology center to visit a Scientology Volunteer Minister who was a relative of theirs … and about whom they were concerned. I told him that he was a “minister of Satan” and that I was a minister of Christ and I had the POWER to cast the demons out of him.
A voice speaking from the Scientology worker immediately said, “We will not come out. This is our house.” NOTICE: The use by the demon(s) speaking, using the words “We” and “our” and “house.” (There were many demons in him.) The Scientology Minister did NOT want help and refused my offer to pray for his deliverance. Two weeks later he was admitted to an insane asylum and I think later committed suicide.

RELATIONSHIP OF GOSSIP & RELEASE
BOTH ARE DEMON INSPIRED
________________________________________
Many of God’s People are doing a “release” of inner regressions―like the Scientologists―but on a different plane: they “release” gossip about a person by bringing up things (true, false, or imagined) about a person’s past. Such people are (many times unknowingly) trying to “purge” themselves of inner hatred, bitterness or jealousy.
If we have something “inside us” that we should share with someone privately, we should make every effort―in love―to disclose that to the person involved. However, there are times when it is better, as my mother used to say, to “let sleeping dogs lie.” I say it this way, “Be quiet and pray in tongues (the language of the Holy Spirit). Then, do what God tells you to do.”
A “gossip”―a person who gossips―is defined as “a person who likes talking about other people’s private lives in a chiefly derogatory manner.” NOTE: This does NOT include a person who relays objective material for the true sake of protecting other people. (Such as a valid “whistleblower.”)
It is interesting to note that the word “devil” is from the Greek “diabolos” and means “a traducer: one who attacks the reputation of another by slander or libel,” and is synonymous with “backbiter, slanderer, defamer.”
The Holy Bible also talks about “busybodies,” which in the original Greek means “to meddle, to work all around” and sometimes refers to the “curious arts” or the “works of Satan.” The devil is actually the source of gossip, whether true or false, and merely uses―or works through―the “instrument: the person doing the gossip.” Scientologists are encouraged to “write up” fellow members—even relatives and spouses—through the use of “Knowledge Reports.”

SCIENTOLOGISTS ARE ENCOURAGED
TO WRITE UP FELLOW MEMBERS THRU
THE USE OF “KNOWLEDGE REPORTS”

Especially egregious is the action of a Christian, one who claims to know Christ, who talks about another person in a defaming way, working around as a busybody―a gossip―about other people’s private lives. So repugnant is this action to the Lord that the Holy Spirit equates it to being a “murderer or a thief or an evildoer.” “But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.” (1 Peter 4:15)
The Holy Bible tells us that “Love bears all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” (Brit Chadashah: 1 Corinthians 13:7) The Greek word for “bear” here used is the word “stego” and means “to roof over;” that is, “to cover with silence.” It also has the thought of “enduring patiently.”

A LIE CAN TRAVEL HALFWAY
AROUND THE WORLD WHILE THE
TRUTH IS PUTTING ON ITS SHOES

Love covers and conceals the faults of another person. The scripture admonishes us to “be earnest in your love among yourselves, for LOVE covers a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8)
We need to “roof over” the sins, faults, and imperfections of others. So many of God’s People are sick, incapacitated―or at the least physically not at their best―because they dig into the lives of others. They forget that God does NOT even do this, nor does He allow Satan to do this. Especially when one gossips―or brings forth information in a demeaning manner―about the past of a believer in Messiah Jesus, they are going beyond the BLOOD of Christ.
In this way they are violating the Law of the New Creation, and setting themselves up as little gods, declaring the BLOOD of Messiah as impotent, and NOT efficacious. “Therefore if anyone is in Messiah, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.” (Brit Chadashah: 2 Corinthians 5:17)
Such people receive bad reports from another, and do not even pay the person against whom the report was made the courtesy of asking them “Is this true” … or asking … “What is your side of the story?”
I usually tell people, “I wasn’t there, I didn’t see it … so don’t tell me about it.” A person who is empowered by God’s love never makes the sins or failures of another person the subject of either censure or conversation.”
Isn’t it really much easier―and better―to bring up the GOOD things about a person―past or present―than the bad? It is actually a litmus test of WHAT is inside YOU. Look for and proclaim the GOOD―“roof over”―and cover the bad.
Only when current error or danger proceeding from a person’s life needs to be exposed should we consider taking the roof off of the matter. And remember: “Judge fruit … NOT motives.”
When you judge others, you are really taking the cover off of yourself and showing what is inside YOU. You are effectively saying, “If I were in their shoes, I would be doing that.” “Judge not, that you be not judged.” (Brit Chadashah: Mattiyahu / Matthew 7:1)
Love covers and conceals―it “roofs over”― everything as far as it can. If a person empowered by God’s love is the only one who has knowledge of the situation, he keeps it in his own heart: He or she “roofs over” the incident.
I trust this teaching has helped you, and that it will help you to be more empowered by God’s love.
My friend, let me ask you the most important question of your life: If you were to die right now, do you know for sure that you would go to Heaven? If not, pray this prayer:

STAY IN THE PEACE ZONE
“Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God.”

A few years ago there was a popular song titled, That’s What Friends Are For, and it was sung by Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston and Luther Vandross.
The KEY thing – horizantally – in your relationships with other people is this: Don’t offend people. It’s O.K. to offend the devil and demons. As a matter of fact … it is fun! A good friend of man who is now with the LORD used to tell me, “If you want to cuss the devil, just pray in tongues.” What he meant is that praying in tongues hurts Satan and demons … it drives them “crazier.”
Many times people AND situations are “stirred up” by the devil to aggravate you … and to get you OUT – or, keep you out – of the peace zone.
No matter what people do to you … stay in the peace zone.
If you need a friend, I am here to help YOU. That’s my assignment from God

That’s what friends are for … in good times … in bad times.
I’ll be on your side forevermore … for that’s what friends are for.
Sometimes people close to you may offend you … they may be Christians or relatives or friends. But your job is to NOT offend. Stay in the peace zone. Another way you can stay in the peace zone is by NOT making bad decsions … or even, “hasty” decisions: things you are NOT sure about. I have written a NEW book to help you in that area titled, .Decision Making 101 – Know for Sure
Learn to ENJOY VICTORY over your enemies . . . God can use them to develop you and thrust you into new areas of usefulness and productivity. Joseph, Daniel, and Mordecai are all prime examples of how God can use your enemies to advance you, and to bring both DELIVERANCE and ENLARGEMENT for you and others. Use your faith . . . utilize love and forgiveness . . . and leave the TIME up to God!
You don’t have to FEEL like loving them . . . just know that God wants you to love them, and then make a conscious decision to do it. Ask God to give you love, forgiveness, and WISDOM in dealing with them. SEE them as someone whom God:
1. Has put in your path for help or ministry;
2. Has placed before you to draw out His resources: His love; provision; and gifts.
3. Has prepared to enable your spiritual growth.
4. Has chosen to use for your advancement and promotion.
Then, knowing the above, when you see the attacks coming . . . rejoice and praise God! Then take your authority over Satan, and bind him in Jesus’ name from carrying out his insidious attacks. Many times they will be working unwittingly with another person to attack you. Why? Because they hate you and they are jealous of the Christ that is in you.
If you are a married person, and the attack is coming from your Christian spouse, then learn to get alone and worship the Christ that is in them! Watch what happens!
Many times you may be lied about. The person telling the lies may be a psychopathic liar. If this is a case involving a spouse or close business associate, then . . . as my mother many times said, “You made your bed, so you’ll have to sleep in it!” In that case, you must deal with the strategies of Satan through the gift of discernment.
If a person is just telling lies about you because of jealousy, envy, hatred . . . or because the enemy is stirring them to attack you for some reason . . . then you can learn to see them as someone God has positioned for any of numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 above. Again, learn to ENJOY VICTORY over your enemies . . . God can turn the situation around and use them to develop you, while bringing you into new areas of usefulness and productivity!
Actually, as a shepherd and warrior, you should begin to use these opportunities to put Satan to flight. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” [James 4:7]
What you want to do is learn to develop your spiritual “burglar alarm.” You need a spiritual security system! Ask God for the gift of discernment. This way you will know when the attacks are active and you can begin to enjoy taking opportunity of them in the Spirit. Pray in the Spirit . . . in tongues.
Warning: this will usually make the person or people more angry and jealous; however God will use this to bring extra conviction upon them to accomplish His purpose(s).
In some cases you will be dealing with a person who is temporarily mentally “off center.” They may have a lot of pressure upon them; they may have old hurts that somehow they associate with you; or they may be just oppressed by the enemy and he is using them as an instrument to attack you.
This is where you have to be really on guard! Just because a person is mentally incapacitated does NOT mean they’re stupid. Let me use an example by means of a story. A man was driving down the road and one of his tires became flat. It so happened that when he came to a stop where he could change the flat he was parked on top of a ridge next to a mental hospital.
While changing the tire, a patient of the mental hospital was watching him through the other side of the chain fence. The driver of the car was putting all the lug nuts from the wheel into the hub cap as he removed them. By accident, he stepped on the hub cap and all the lug nuts fell down the ridge . . . they were lost. He was in despair and didn’t know what to do!
The mental patient yelled across to him and said, “Why don’t you take one lug nut off each of the other three wheels and then use them on the tire you’re changing.” “That’s a wonderful idea,” said the driver. Then the driver said to the mental patient, “I thought you were crazy?!” “I am,” said the patient, “but that doesn’t mean I’m stupid!”
Many times, and at different intervals, God will call you to shepherd KEY enemies. David shepherded Goliath and later Saul. Moses shepherded Pharaoh. The secret here is to remember that a good shepherd is also a good warrior. He protects the flock and he also drives off the enemy.
You may be in a work situation at your place of employment where the things described above are happening to you. Learn to enjoy watching God work! Above all, do NOT EMBRACE THE SPIRIT(S) of the person/people trying to aggravate you. If you argue, or embrace the spirit working through them, then you will be in the flesh, and you have lost the battle. Don’t let YOUR spirit be aggravated!
“He who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding is of a calm (or, cool) spirit. Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; when he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.” [Proverbs 17:27-28]
I trust this will help you. God has given you everything you need to stay in the peace zone. Just rely on Him. Don’t worry about what you will do if a certain situation arrives. When you need it, the wisdom and power will be there!

God has many ways to bring you success. He can even use your enemies. Listening to the Holy Spirit is VITAL to your success. In this podcast you will learn SECRETS to assure your success. You do NOT need big programs, you do NOT need lots of people, and you do NOT need lots of money. If you will give God the glory, you WILL succeed.

HOW GOD BRINGS SUCCESS WITH THE ANOINTING
MUSIC / INTRO
There are many ways God has to bring you success. Many times He or His angels are working ahead of time – or right on time – in unseen ways to deliver you, to prosper you, and to bring you into a place of super productivity.
Remember, God is FOR YOU. If you ever doubt this, look at the cross. If when we were His enemies He loved us so much that He sent His only son to die for us, how much more, now that we are His friends, does He want to make us whole in every area of our lives. (Romans 5:10)
God has every detail of your life covered. If you walk in constant communion with Him – if the Holy Spirit is your best Friend – and if you are involved in kingdom work, then you can expect His VERY BEST for you.
At times, the enemy may try to attack you through fear. Fear is a spirit. Fear is the opposite of love. God is love. Perfect love casts out ALL fear. “There is NO fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love.” [1 John 4:18]
Speak to the spirit (demon) of fear; take your authority over it, bind it in Jesus’ name and cast it back to the pit of hell.
MUSIC
Use the Word of God against the enemy: “For God has not given me the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” [2 Timothy 1:7]
There are times when the devil would try to come against you with a protracted period of fear. This may, or may not, involve people, as agents of the enemy. This is a GOOD SIGN. This tells you that what you are doing … or about to do … is scaring him. The enemy is afraid. Since he is a liar, and the father of liars, then you know he is “bluffing you”. Don’t be afraid to “call his hand” just like you would in a game of poker. The difference is that you’re going to use your Heavenly Father’s resources (you have the BEST hand!).
In a situation of protracted period of fear, do the following:
Fast;
Wait on God and listen; then,
Do what God tells you.
You may not even have to do anything. The fast may take care of the situation itself. And, remember: If you walk in constant communion with Him … if the Holy Spirit is your best Friend … and if you are involved in kingdom work, then you can expect His VERY BEST for you. There are many ways God works for you and many of these are “behind the scenes” operations: “covert” if you will.
GOD IS ALWAYS READY TO WORK FOR YOU
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you shall go; I will guide you with my eye.” [Psalm 32:8]
Realize that this promise is both “individual” and “corporate”. God is not only working for YOU, but also for those PEOPLE under your tutelage and leadership. He wants you to KNOW His deliverance, direction, and dynamics: for your sake, as well as the sake of those people under your watch care.
MUSIC
To make sure we are the recipients of His instruction, teaching, and guidance we need to be open to His leading and to be Spirit controlled. The verse immediately following the one above tells us, “Don’t be like the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding, and whose mouths must be held in with bit and bridle.” [Psalm 32:9] This is why we need to be in God’s Word every day, talking with Him, listening, and sharing our faith with others: to have understanding of His ways and NOT going our own ways.
GOD WANTS TO WORK FOR YOU IF YOU WILL GIVE HIM THE GLORY
In the Book of Judges, Chapter Six, we read that the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord delivered them into the and of Midian seven years. Then they cried out to the Lord and, as a result, God raised up a deliverer named Gideon. Gideon had a band of 32,000 people ready to go to war. But God told Gideon, “The people that are with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, because [your people] Israel will boast in a vain way saying, ‘Our hands won the battle [it wasn’t God]’.” [Judges 7:2]
GOD KNOWS HOW TO WIN YOUR BATTLE – JUST LISTEN TO HIM
The Lord told Gideon, “Whoever is FEARFUL and AFRAID, let him return and depart early … and 22,000 people returned; and there remained 10,000.” Next, the Lord told Gideon, “The people are still too many.” God then had Gideon separate the remaining people into two groups, depending upon how they drank water: if they bowed down upon their knees, or if they put their hand to their mouth and lapped the water with their tongues as a dog laps. God then told Gideon he would save them by the 300 men that lapped, and the other 9,700 were sent home.
You see, God wants to receive the glory for what He does through you, my friend. You do NOT need a lot of big programs, you do NOT need a lot of people, you do NOT need a lot of money. You just need the Spirit of God anointing you and directing you as you obey what He instructs you to do.

GOD CAN GIVE YOU A SIGN THROUGH YOUR ENEMIES
That same night the Lord told Gideon to go down to the host of the enemy because he was going to deliver them into Gideon’s hands. The Lord told Gideon, “But if you are AFRAID to go down then take your servant with you and you shall hear what the enemy says.” One of the enemy soldiers had a dream and Gideon heard him tell another soldier about the dream. The soldier said the dream was about Gideon, a man of Israel, “for into his hand God has delivered us [Midian and all the host].”
That is exactly what happened! That night the Lord gave Gideon and his band of men a GIANT victory. Only 300 with Gideon and they defeated the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east who were in the valley like grasshoppers in multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude. [Judges 7:12]
Remember: one person plus God is a MAJORITY! Be watchful for those situations where God can invade the enemy through you and where God will receive ALL the glory! The Lord can use those situations to bring deliverance, prosperity, and wholeness to multitudes of people. And God will be glorified because everyone will know you could never do these things on your own: they are MIRACLES!
“But thanks be unto God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” [1 Corinthians 15:57]

You must have BOTH success and a long life of wholeness in order to administer effectively the areas He gives you to possess. Unless God has chosen you to be a martyr, you must have health, length of days, and a long life to maximize the occupation of your victory!
HOW TO LIVE A LONG LIFE & SUCCEED
MUSIC / INTRO
Do the RIGHT thing!
“Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that you may LIVE, and go in and POSSESS the land which the LORD God of your fathers gives you.” [Deuteronomy 4:1]
The Hebrew word for “live” in the above passage is “chayah” meaning “to keep alive, nourish, recover, repair, restore, and be whole.”
The Hebrew word for “possess” used above is “yarash” which means “to occupy by driving out previous tenants and possessing in their place, to seize, to inherit, to take possession.”
In the parable of the nobleman [Luke 19:13] Jesus alluded to the fact that we need to “occupy, or do business” until He returns again. We need to be good stewards of our resources:
1. What He has put into our hands (all that He has given us by birth, adoption, or assignment);
2. And, of our life and strength.
The Greek word for “occupy” is “pragmateuomai” which means “to busy oneself, to trade.” In other words, strive to be productive and successful while you are carrying out the Lord’s business. Don’t become inactive. Live a long life and succeed . . . take possession of the enemy’s territory and rule it! (See “Note” at the end of these shownotes.)
MUSIC
This is one aspect of the ABUNDANT LIFE which the Messiah of Israel promised us: not only LIFE but FLOURISHING LIFE.
Moses instructed the people of Israel, “Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which you shall command your children to observe and do, all the words of this law. For it is not a VAIN thing for you; because it [the Word of God] is your LIFE; and through this thing you shall PROLONG your days in the land, where you go over Jordan to POSSESS it.” [Deuteronomy 32:46-47]
The Hebrew word for “vain” above is “req” which means “futile.” It is saying in the original Hebrew that the Word of God is “not empty or worthless” but it will . . . if you observe and do it . . . give you LONG LIFE and SUCCESS in driving out the enemy and POSSESSING his territory. Here’s what you can count on:
1. Length of days;
2. Wholeness and nourishment;
3. Success;
4. Possession of the inheritance.
Length of days, wholeness and nourishment, success, and possession of the inheritance are yours!
In one of King David’s Psalms he writes, “By this I know that You are well pleased with me, because my enemy does not triumph over me.” [Psalm 41:11]
MUSIC
Scripture also tells us, “When a man’s ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” [Proverbs 16:7]
As God gives you success, and as you drive out the enemy and possess his land, people will many times be jealous of you. Sometimes these may be brethren in the faith who are jealous of you. The enemy of your soul will try many ways to oppress you and to destroy your HEALTH. If your health (mental, physical, or spiritual) is weakened you will not be able to fight strongly and you will not live a long life to keep administering the areas God has given you to possess.
You must have BOTH success and a long life of wholeness in order to administer effectively the areas He gives you to possess. Unless God has chosen you to be a martyr, you must have health, length of days, and a long life to maximize the occupation of your victory!
This is why you must not only LISTEN and OBSERVE the Word of the Lord, but you must DO His Word. Then you will LIVE and POSSESS the land . . . and you will PROLONG YOUR DAYS in the land you go to POSSESS. [Deuteronomy 4:1 and 32:46-47]
Proverb 28:9 tells us, “One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is abomination.”
MUSIC
The great passage that sparked the Reformation in the time of Martin Luther was Habakkuk 2:4: “Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him; but the just shall LIVE by his FAITH.” It is literally saying that the person whose soul is “swelled” or “presumptuous” is not “straight or right” . . . not “pleasant or prosperous.” The root word for “LIVE” in this passage is the same Hebrew word “chayah” used in Deuteronomy 4:1 that we discussed above, and means “to keep alive, nourish, recover, repair, restore, and be whole.”
In other words, the person who does WHAT IS RIGHT will be continue to be nourished, restored, and whole by means of the FIRMNESS and CONSISTENCY of his faith: his fidelity and conscientiousness! Because of his solid belief he does the right thing!
“A FAITHFUL man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.” [Proverbs 28:20] The word for “faithful” here used is from the same root as the word for “faith” in Habakkuk 2:4. A man of firmness and stability through faith will have abundant blessings.
Moses said, “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing . . . choose LIFE so that you and your children may LIVE so that you may LOVE the LORD your God, that you may OBEY His voice, and that you may CLING to Him, for He is your LIFE and the LENGTH of your DAYS, and that you may dwell in the land . . .” [Deuteronomy 19-20]
Do the RIGHT thing!

Again, learn to ENJOY VICTORY over your enemies . . . God can turn the situation around and use them to develop you, while bringing you into new areas of usefulness and productivity! You can experience real miracles by doing this.
Actually, as a shepherd and warrior, you should begin to use these opportunities to put Satan to flight. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” [James 4:7]
What you want to do is learn to develop your spiritual “burglar alarm.” You need a spiritual security system! Ask God for the gift of discernment. This way you will know when the attacks are active and you can begin to enjoy taking opportunity of them in the Spirit. Pray in the Spirit . . . in tongues.
Warning: this will usually make the person or people more angry and jealous; however God will use this to bring extra conviction upon them to accomplish His purpose(s).
In some cases you will be dealing with a person who is temporarily mentally “off center.” They may have a lot of pressure upon them; they may have old hurts that somehow they associate with you; or they may be just oppressed by the enemy and he is using them as an instrument to attack you.
This is where you have to be really on guard! Just because a person is mentally incapacitated does NOT mean they’re stupid. Let me use an example by means of a story. A man was driving down the road and one of his tires became flat. It so happened that when he came to a stop where he could change the flat he was parked on top of a ridge next to a mental hospital.
While changing the tire, a patient of the mental hospital was watching him through the other side of the chain fence. The driver of the car was putting all the lug nuts from the wheel into the hub cap as he removed them. By accident, he stepped on the hub cap and all the lug nuts fell down the ridge . . . they were lost. He was in despair and didn’t know what to do!
The mental patient yelled across to him and said, “Why don’t you take one lug nut off each of the other three wheels and then use them on the tire you’re changing.” “That’s a wonderful idea,” said the driver. Then the driver said to the mental patient, “I thought you were crazy?!” “I am,” said the patient, “but that doesn’t mean I’m stupid!”
Many times, and at different intervals, God will call you to shepherd KEY enemies. David shepherded Goliath and later Saul. Moses shepherded Pharaoh. The secret here is to remember that a good shepherd is also a good warrior. He protects the flock and he also drives off the enemy.
You may be in a work situation at your place of employment where the things described above are happening to you. Learn to enjoy watching God work! Above all, do NOT EMBRACE THE SPIRIT(S) of the person/people trying to aggravate you. If you argue, or embrace the spirit working through them, then you will be in the flesh, and you have lost the battle. Don’t let YOUR spirit be aggravated!
“He who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding is of a calm (or, cool) spirit. Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; when he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.” [Proverbs 17:27-28]
I trust this will help you. God has given you everything you need for victory. Just rely on Him. Don’t worry about what you will do if a certain situation arrives. When you need it, the wisdom and power will be there!

EIGHT TWIN STRATEGIES FOR SUCCESS & CONTINUED VISION (PART D – FINAL)
In previous teachings in this series we discussed the FIRST FIVE TWINS for success and continued vision:
- Enthusiastic Desire PLUS Faith;
- Decisive Nature PLUS Virtue;
- Specialized Knowledge PLUS Spiritual Knowledge;
- Quest for Excellence PLUS Temperance; and,
- Organic Spiritual Endeavor PLUS Patience.
In this final teaching of the series we will cover the LAST THREE TWINS:
- Principles of Value PLUS Godliness;
- Like-minded Associates PLUS Brotherly Kindness; and
- Vehicle for Attainment PLUS Love.
When you combine your good desires with faith . . . ENTHUSIASTIC DESIRE PLUS FAITH . . . you have an unbeatable combination. You can begin to PLAN your future prayerfully based upon the God given desires of your heart. That’s one reason it is important to read and meditate upon the Word of God daily so you will KNOW and develop the will of God for your life.
Remember . . . you can CREATE with your faith. Hebrews 11:1 tell us, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Faith is the underpinning or support . . . a title deed (as in property) . . . that lets you KNOW you have the objects or affairs you do not yet see.
It is a wonderful thing to have FAITH, but if you have a PLAN incorporating your desires to go along with your faith, it is even better! Here’s a SECRET that will allow you to SEE many MIRACLES:
If your PLAN fits into God’s plan
. . . . . . . you will have God’s FAITH
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . and God’s faith ALWAYS WORKS!
You need to be able to make decisions based upon knowledge and quality input. Once again, this is where it is important to read and meditate upon the Word of God daily. You need DIRECTION in the many matters of life that face you now . . . and also about future planning. God has given you everything you need for LIFE and GODLINESS through His PROMISES and the KNOWLEDGE of Christ.
In ministry and in business you need to draw upon quality research, marketing, and experience (sometimes the input of others). And you need to KNOW when to act. Timing is KEY to success in many courses of action. Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, says that when he knows that something is right, and that the timing is right, he goes into it with MASSIVE ACTION. However, without VIRTUE a decision can have disastrous effects eternally and with no substance temporally here on earth.
The Greek word for VIRTUE in the New testament is arete: it means excellence and valor. We need to be people of EXCELLENCE. Our nature should be to make excellent DECISIONS based upon VIRTUE. If we are following Jesus and listening to the Holy Spirit, we will be able to accomplish this continuously.
“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men. Knowing that of the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.” [Colossians 3:23-24]
Make your decisions based upon the fact that God is watching you!
We are living in a day like the prophet Daniel described where “knowledge shall be increased” and we should take advantage of that knowledge to advance the kingdom of God. Daniel, in a passage of scripture dealing with the end times, tells us ” . . . but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” [Daniel 11:32] Exploit, in the sense used here, means literally “to do successively unfolding bold, courageous works!”
There are many ways to influence society and to reach the world for Messiah. And there are many NEW ways to help yourself gain SUCCESS! Pray and ask God to reveal these to you. Then, obey Him and be diligent to study in order to prepare yourself to be used by the Master: to be a good steward.
No amount of SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, however, will be of significant time value without SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE. No matter how successful we become in life, it will not be of any time value unless we know God personally. If we know God through His Son, Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah, then we have eternal life. [Brit Chadashah: John 3:16]
When you study the Bible, ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you, and to teach you so you can teach others. The scripture instructs us, “Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” [2 Timothy 2:15]
Combining SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE with SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE will provide you a powerful impetus for ongoing success and continued vision. To be really successful we need to share our success with others: our family, our brothers and sisters in Messiah, our community, and the world.
THE MORE YOU KNOW . . . THE MORE THE HOLY SPIRIT CAN USE! This applies not only to mental knowledge but also to knowledge gained through the acquisition of physical skills or craftsmanship.
Practice excellence in your CHARACTER. Be transparent and keep your word. Psalm 15 is a good start for practical living and developing excellence in character. Also, loving our neighbor as we do our self, and doing unto our neighbor as we would have him do to us, is the guideline our Gadol Cohen (Great Rabbi) set before us.
Practice excellence in your WORK. Be a good steward for your earthly employer and your Heavenly employer. Colossians 3:22 instructs us NOT to do sight-labor: that is, work that needs watching.
In your quest for excellence, develop your skills to the BEST of your ability. Be a good manager of what God has given you and over which God has placed you. Keep improving and growing in your knowledge base, your acumen, and your skills. Study Part ‘A’ of this teaching to help develop excellence in acumen; particularly study the section on “Decisive Nature and Virtue.”
Along with the quest for excellence you need to partner with temperance, or self control. Many people, on their quest for excellence, do NOT allow for rest or leisure. This is vital to SUCCESS and CONTINUED VISION.
Rest, and also quietness, is necessary for wholeness. A key scripture and principle that I have tried to practice in my life for many years is found in Isaiah 30:15:
“For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning and rest shall you be saved; and in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.”
Leisure is more than just non-work. It is when we PERMIT ourselves time for rest, growth, and development. Leisure is BOTH the embryo and the catalyst for creativity, and for NEW experiences, people, play, and places.
We have to permit ourselves the time to rest . . . to re-create . . . and to create! Isaiah 58:13-14 tells us about an ADDED BONUS when we honor the Sabbath of the Lord.
“If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honorable; and shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words:
Then shall you delight yourself in the LORD; and I will cause you to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.”
We need to have TOTAL success in life: in this life on earth and in the eternal beyond; and God has provided just such means to attain that goal. God has given us EVERYTHING WE NEED for: LIFE, and GODLINESS.
“According as His divine power has given unto us ALL THINGS that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that has called us to glory and virtue.” [2 Peter 1:3]
He has given us PROMISES so that we can share or partner with Him in His divine expansion – or growth of descendants – after we have escaped, by His saving grace, the ruin that is in the world through lust. In other words, after we are born again and start serving Messiah, we can partner and be a companion with God in successfully bearing fruit: that is, growing other seed-descendants. These include our own children who are born again while also reaching out to the rest of the world.
“Whereby are given to us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” [2 Peter 1:4]
How can we involve ourselves in powerful, prolonged, and productive effort that will be self multiplying and profitable, not only temporally here on Planet Earth but also eternally in Heaven?
The answer: be actively engaged in organic ministry growth! Be involved in a work that is propagating living, continuous development of the Kingdom of God.
The definition of the word propagate is “to breed by natural (or supernatural) processes from a parent origin; to promote an idea or knowledge widely; to transmit in a particular direction.”
There are around 60,000 people groups on Planet Earth, with Messianic believers and Christians in most regions of the earth. With the expansion of global trade, internet access, social networking, and communications, many – if not most – of these groups understand and view themselves as one worldwide synagogue or church in an interconnected world. To be involved in Kingdom Work is to be involved with the heart and purpose of God. It is to be involved LOCALLY and GLOBALLY . . . and both TEMPORALLY and ETERNALLY.
The earth is getting smaller with regard to travel, communications, and interfacing of cultures. At the same time the Body of Messiah’s people is becoming more inter-tribal. We see the horizon of the fulfillment of Yeshua’s prophecy that the Good News will be preached, proclaimed, or published before the time of His return to Planet Earth.
“And the gospel must first be published [preached] among all nations.” [Mark 13:10]
The word for nations here used is “ethnos” – as in ethnic group – meaning “a race of the same habit, or culture, or tribe.”
Read and study the Biblical pattern of synagogue and church growth in the Book of Acts. Certain things are evidentiary and these same patterns are manifest in any POWER GROWTH synagogue or church today.
1. When people believed in Yeshua (Jesus), and after they took part in mikvah (were baptized in water), a group was formed for: worship; teaching; prayer; helps; and, evangelism.
2. Prophets and teachers were raised up by the Holy Spirit.
3. The Christians prayed and fasted.
4. The Holy Spirit called out apostles.
5. These apostles were sent out (NOT “released”) by the believers after hands were laid on them.
6. As the apostles went to different areas they preached the Good News.
7. Other churches were raised up as a result of the preaching and the work of the apostles.
8. The churches grew and ministered to the believers, the community, and the world.
Notice, in Acts 13:1-4, it was the Holy Spirit who CALLED the apostles (verse 2) and it was the Holy Spirit who SENT them (verse 4). In between the calling and the sending was the ratification by the elders with the laying on of hands (verse 3). The apostles were NOT “released by men” . . . it was the Holy Spirit who called and sent them.
Notice, this is the NORMAL PATTERN of church growth. This is to be expected today! It should be a regular practice of a local church to SEND OUT workers: both for long term commitment and for short term service.
We should always be willing to make changes for the Lord; that is part of discipleship. However; there are times we have to wait . . . because God is developing things or situations where we are going to be sent . . . or because He is developing things in our lives . . . or both!
But if you wait for an EXTENDED period of time, then examine yourself to make sure you are willing to leave your comfort zone. God may be speaking to you and redirecting you, but you may not be listening because it is NOT what you want to hear.
Patience is really cheerful, or hopeful, endurance. True biblical patience, as expressed by the Greek word “hupomone” is constancy. It is the kind of enduring patience, or patient continuance in well doing. It is knowing the will of God for this season of your life, and looking forward to being used by God in SPECIAL SERVICE in the future, also! Be involved in ministry that is sending out the workers, birthing or planting new synagogues and churches, preaching and teaching to facilitate the MIRACLE working power of God. Yeshua (Jesus) sent out his followers . . . and He is sending YOU out to:
Preach and teach;
Heal the sick;
Cast out demons.
This threefold ministry, or triangulation of mission, will empower you and your ministry; it will keep you FRESH under the anointing of the Spirit. You will be continuously creative, causing you to be more successful and to have continued vision!
Now, if you add to your patience PRINCIPLES OF VALUE and GODLINESS, you will have the spiritual and physical mechanics to add other people, like-minded associates, to your asset bank for success and continued vision.
PRINCIPLES OF VALUE plus GODLINESS
One of the great aspects of reading and studying – as well as meditating upon – the Holy Bible daily is so we can learn precepts and principles. We can learn HOW God thinks about certain things and WHY He wants us to behave in a particular manner. Situations vary in life; we may not always come up against situations that have been codified. However, if we know HOW God thinks about certain things and WHY God expects certain responses from us, then we can transfer those principles into every arena of life.
We need to know both the Jewish Old Testament (Tanakh) and the Jewish New Testament (Brit Chadashah) so we can navigate successfully through the issues of life and have continued vision. There is an association between the Law of God and vision from the Lord.
“The law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the Lord.” [Lamentations 2:9]
“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.” [Proverbs 29:18]
It is the same way in our personal lives and ministries. If we adhere to the teachings of God; that is, live by the principles we learn about HOW God thinks and WHY He expects certain behavior, then we will not only have SUCCESS but also continued VISION.
Actually the combined traits of PRINCIPLES OF VALUE and GODLINESS will be concomitant factors. Here again is the key: knowing and obeying the Word of God, which is His Will!
LIKE-MINDED ASSOCIATES plus BROTHERLY KINDNESS
You need to have strong relationships with God and with those people to whom God will lead you to work. Appreciate the people with which God has chosen you to work. However, don’t try to “force” relationships: don’t make commitments to every person you meet. God will show you those people to whom you should be committed when you are FIRST committed to Him!
Give positive support, or “reinforcement” to those people you’re committed to …
Whether they are OVER YOU in a position of authority;
You are OVER THEM; or,
You are on the same level (working or ministry associates).
Remind each other that “God will fight for us!”.
Give your associates REWARDS from time-to-time for:
The good work they do;
Their consistency and faithfulness; or,
Their availability.
These rewards do not (always) have to be monetary. Sometimes a “pat on the back”, or a “word of encouragement”, is really meaningful: letting them know the good they are doing is not going unnoticed. Let people KNOW you are THANKFUL and APPRECIATIVE of their association with you.
Maybe an invitation to dinner, or just spending time alone with them or their family, whether it’s a few minutes or a day or two. It is also important for a man to give positive support to his wife. There are so many ways a wife serves a husband in his ministry that may go unnoticed by him.
Simple brotherly kindness to and among your group will go a long way to impacting the world with Messiah’s love and power! This is the reason I started The Apostles Group seven years ago, and the reason I write this newsletter and provide our world services free.
We need to appreciate those nearest to us, and never to take them for granted. This is where “family altar” is so important: don’t neglect ministering to your own family! They may be your GREATEST DISCIPLES!! Read and discuss the Holy Bible together, and then pray together.
It is good to spend time refreshing your mind thinking about all the successes God has given you in the past. God has NOT brought you this far to make you fail. God is FOR you! One time the disciples of Jesus were in a ship in the middle of the sea where the waves were rough and the wind was strong. They became fearful until Jesus came to them on the water and told them not to be afraid. They FORGOT that the Lord had commanded them to GO to the other side.
He did NOT intend them to sink or to fail. Jesus intends for you to SUCCEED! He wants you to make it to the “other side.” Take time to study in the Holy Bible how others have succeeded: Abraham, Joseph, Daniel, Esther, Mordecai … and the Apostles.
Associate with like-minded people who SHARE YOUR VISION (or who know what you’re about) . . . people who are POSITIVE. You want to be able to brainstorm with these people, and not to have ideas – no matter how ridiculous – be shot down as soon as they are verbalized.
IMPORTANT: This group of like-minded people with whom you will share your vision, goals, and new ideas, is NOT an accountability group. This is NOT a group of people to whom you decide to be accountable for your personal life, your ministry, or your finances. This is a group of people with whom you need to have OPENNESS for CREATIVITY:
To dream;
To plan;
To get feedback; and,
To implement.
We have seen that when we add to our patience the twin gifts of GODLINESS and PRINCIPLES OF VALUE, we will have the spiritual and physical mechanics to add other people, LIKE-MINDED ASSOCIATES, to our asset bank for success and continued vision. Next . . . you can select your VEHICLE FOR ATTAINMENT.
VEHICLE FOR ATTAINMENT plus LOVE
What is the means by which you will arrive at your goal? What is the vehicle which will transport you to the attainment of your dream?
When an athlete in a championship game scores the winning goal, he is merely manifesting a composite of the years of training, wins and losses, experience, exercise, and mental conditioning that have preceded this moment. Likewise, the composite of major decisions in our lives are usually the summation of the smaller minor decisions and habit-patterns we have formed along the way.
To some people, the vehicle for attainment of their goals is a multilevel marketing plan. To others, it is a business and investment plan. To many, it is a retirement plan. To the ULTIMATE WINNER, it is the vision and the miraculous arrived at through seeking God in prayer and fasting: combining ENTHUSIASTIC DESIRE and FAITH with DIRECTION from God.
God will reveal YOUR vehicle for attainment as you spend time alone with Him. Shut off your television and your video / DVD player . . . spend time with the Creator of the Universe. Talk to Him . . . listen to Him. God is NOT stupid. The Heavenly Father knows the person who wants to be used by Him . . . the person who wants to spend time with Him. And, He doesn’t need anyone: no matter how great our talents, skills, and possessions!
The Creator will reveal by His Spirit the vehicle for you to use in the attainment of your goal(s) . . . and when to CHANGE that vehicle. God, the creator of the goal-desires in your heart, knows the methodology by which to bring them to pass. He knows the vehicle by which, when coupled with FAITH, will bring the goal-desires into fruition.
There is an amazing spiritual truth we find in Genesis 11:1-9. Before the nations of the earth were scattered on the face of the earth, the earth was of one language and one speech. The people had decided to make a city and a tower, whose top would reach unto heaven; they wanted to make a name for themselves so they would not be scattered abroad upon the face of the earth.
“And the Lord said, ‘Behold, the people is one, and they all have one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.” [verse 6] “Let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” [verse 7]
Archaeological records show us that these were wicked and idolatrous people. Yet we see in verse 6 that God said, “nothing will be restrained from them”. Notice they had ONE goal and ONE speech. They were unified in purpose and language.
If this principle of “oneness” works in unbelievers … for ungodly, wicked people … how much more will it work for believers … for God’s people … who have ONE goal and ONE speech: a common vision and a common language! Especially spirit-filled Christians who have a common objective and who can pray and decree a thing (or a set of objectives) in not only their common earthly language(s), but also their heavenly language: tongues!
In Job 22:28 we read, “You shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto you …” In the original Hebrew language the word “decree” is a primitive root form of the word “gazar“, which means “to cut out exclusively, or to decide“. In its primitive form it is used also as a “quarrying” term … as in cutting out stone from a rock quarry.
It means more than to “say” or “speak”. It conveys the meaning of “cutting something out in your mind’s eye”; that is, “to envision [to make a vision], to decide upon it, and confess it” … and then it will be established unto you! If you and your Christian brothers and sisters have a common vision or goal, and decide upon it, confessing it in a common language, speaking it … “nothing will be restrained from you which you have imagined (or, envisioned) to do!! [Read again Genesis 11:1-6.]
The SECRET . . . the capstone to the whole process . . . without which you will not be the ULTIMATE WINNER . . . is LOVE.
The vehicle for attainment of your goals, no matter how intense your desire, your faith and the other twins we have studied, cannot bring you into success and continued vision without LOVE. Love is the channel through which the gifts of the Holy Spirit work. “Faith works by love.” [Galatians 5:6]
Remember … if you have LOVE, then FAITH can work.

HOW TO BE A FATHER … OR MOTHER … WHAT SHOULD I DO?
These words burst from the heart of a father who felt he had failed: “What should I have done differently?”
They are not the words of just one father. In them are the questions that are uppermost in the minds of many fathers and mothers … if they take parenting seriously. I’ve pondered these questions and a few suggestions have surfaced.

FIRST, if I were starting my family again, I would be freer to let my children SEE that I love their mother.
I would seek to be faithful in doing little loving things for her: opening the car door, placing her chair at the table, giving her little gifts on special, and maybe “not-so-special” occasions … writing her love letters when I’m away from home. I would take her hand as we walk. I would praise her in the presence of my children.
A child whose parents love each other has a security and stability about life that is gained in no other way.
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Messiah loved tHis people and gave Himself up them.” (Brit Chadashah: Ephesians 5:25)

SECOND, I would listen more. Most fathers find it hard to listen. After a busy day they are tired … BUT … so is the wife. I would listen when my child shares his hurts and complaints … and his excitements. I would try to hold back words of impatience at the interruptions. Such times can be the best times to show love and kindness.
One evening a small boy tried to show his father a scratch on his finger. Finally, after repeated attempts to get his father’s attention, the father stopped reading his newspaper and said impatiently, “Well, I can’t do anything about it, can I?” “Yes, Daddy,” his son said, “You could have said, ‘Oh!'”
I would try to understand what my child says. I now believe that the father who listens when his child is small will have a child who cares what his father says later in life.
In listening, I would pay more attention to my child’s questions. It is estimated that the average child asks 500,000 questions by age 15. What a privilege for every parent: unlimited opportunities to share something about the meaning of life and about your own dependence on God.
“These commandments … are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you out for a walk, at bedtime and when you get up.” (Torah: Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

THIRD, I would seek more opportunities to give my child a feeling of belonging. When a child feels he belongs in his family and is of real worth, it is not a big step to feel accepted, loved, and worth something to others and to God.
A child feels he belongs when he is involved in the responsibility and work of the family. Celebration of birthdays – when the PERSON, rather than the gifts, is central – creates a sense of belonging. We can build that same sense into the child when they hear us pray for them. No part of child guidance is more important than assuring the child – by action AND word – that he is important and has a place in the affections of the family.
“Children are a gift of the Lord; the fruit of the womb is His reward.” (Psalm 127:3)

FOURTH, I would express words of appreciation and praise more. Many children seldom hear words of commendation and encouragement when they do a job well or exhibit good behavior.
Probably no other thing encourages a child to love life, to seek accomplishment, and to gain confidence more than proper, sincere praise … NOT flattery, but honest compliments when he does well.
“See that you do not look down on one of these little ones.” (Matthew 18:10)

FIFTH, I would spend more time with them. A group of 300 7th and 8th grade boys kept accurate records of how much time their fathers actually spent with them over a two-week period. Most saw their fathers for days at a time; however, during an entire week, the average time a father and son were ALONE TOGETHER was 7 1/2 minutes.
Arthur Gordon tells an interesting experience from his youth: “When I was around 13 and my brother was 10, Father promised to take us to the circus. But at lunch there was a phone call; some urgent business required his attention downtown. My brother and I braced ourselves for disappointment. Then we heard him say, ‘No, I won’t be down. It will have to wait.’ When he came back to the table, Mother smiled. ‘The circus keeps coming back, you know.’ ‘I know,’ said Father, ‘but childhood doesn’t’.”
“Making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:16)

SIXTH, if I were to start my family again, I would laugh more. I remember when I laughed with my children: at the humorous antics they did for the family, at the funny stories shared, and at the times I fell for their tricks and catch questions.
I recall the squeals of delight when I laughed with them and shared in their fun and games on the floor. When I laughed with our children our fun was ENLARGED, and the door was opened for doing many other things together.
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22)

FINALLY, the BEST parent is the one who knows God as their heavenly Father. Only Yeshua can provide that relationship. Only He can say, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
When we place our trust in Messiah Yeshua – believing that only His atonement for our sins can bring us forgiveness – then we become part of God’s family. At that time we receive a NEW POTENTIAL for fathering, for we have gained access to God’s UN-limited resources … and we can ask Him for wisdom and help.
