FEAR OF SUCCESS

God wants the BEST for you! He wants you to WIN! God wants you healthy, prosperous, successful, and productive! In the Old Testament, God told the Israelites that He wanted their days to be as the days of “Heaven upon earth.”

“That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the Lord swore unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon earth.”
[Deuteronomy 11:18-21]

In the Brit Chadashah (New Testament), we read: “Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, just like your soul prospers.” [3 John 2]

However, some people cannot handle these attributes – health, prosperity, success, productivity – at a particular point in time. Therefore, God sends testings to try us and prove us. There are different reasons why He does this:

1. To make sure when we are blessed with a particular attribute that we will give glory to Him.

2. To make sure we honorably represent Messiah. If being blessed causes us to be puffed up with pride, then that is not good.

These two items above should be one of our two parallel long term goals in life: to honorably represent Messiah and give glory to God.

The other long term goal in our life is to accomplish the great work for which we were created: the thing that is the deep desire within your heart.

In the last newsletter we discussed “Maintaining a Position of Spiritual Power.” One area of hindrance to maintaining a position of spiritual power is FEAR OF SUCCESS. I believe King Saul had a fear of success. The Bible says that Saul was “a choice young man and goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.” [1 Samuel 9:2]

Not only was Saul taller than any of the other young men, but he was cheerful, kind, joyful, and gracious. We know this from the descriptive Hebrew word “tob” which is translated “goodly” and “goodlier” in the English. He was handsome, healthy, and happy. He had a good start … but a miserable finish!

In the newsletter “Decision, Determination, and Destiny” (the story of Ruth) we learned that Ruth was propelled from poverty to status as a world class influence because of her willingness:

1. To change;

2. To learn; and,

3. To receive.

Fear of success will keep a person from receiving. There are several reasons for this:

1. Mental rejection. For some reason, they don’t want success: A.) Maybe because of the resultant responsibilities; B.) Maybe because success will also come to those around them whom they want to hurt; and, C.) Maybe because they want to punish themselves or those near to them.

2. Fear of failing. This seems contradictory but some people don’t want to succeed because they are afraid they will fail after they achieve success. Therefore, they set up a wall to protect themselves from succeeding … so they won’t have to fail.

3. Low self esteem. Inwardly, they do not feel worthy of success, and subconsciously reject it. They may accept success at the onset; however, over time, a self-defeating mechanism brings destruction and failure.

4. Unresolved sin. They may not realize that forgiveness is available through Christ. Or, they may know that Christ paid for their sins, but psychologically they still afflict punishment on themselves.

5. Demonic oppression. They may be afflicted with a spirit of failure, destruction, or inferiority … and sometimes a lying spirit assigned from the enemy, Satan, to keep them from success.

This is WHY we need to read and meditate the Word of God daily:

1. We need to KNOW what our Father in Heaven wants for us. God wants us healthy, prosperous, successful, holy, and productive!

2. We need to KNOW our spiritual authority in Messiah. In the name of Yeshua ha Meshiach (Jesus the Messiah) we can bind the demons that would try to lie to us and attack us (or lie to and attack others) and we can break their hold PERMANENTLY! [Read and study The Apostles Newsletter titled “The Covering” – June 15, 2003]

God designed you for SUCCESS. If you are IN MESSIAH, God has given you the tools you need TO WIN:

The name of Yeshua (Jesus);

The promises in God’s Word;

The measure of faith;

The ability to pray in tongues (Holy Spirit baptism); and

The ministry of the Holy Angels.

There is NO REASON for you to fail … if you are honorably representing Messiah Yeshua and giving glory to God.

Remember we discussed in a previous newsletter that our exit plan in life should be EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN our long term goals.

The bigger your long term goal for life, the more the enemy will try to resist you
. It only stands to reason. He doesn’t care what or whom he uses: it may be a person (Christian or non-Christian); it may be a relative or someone you don’t know; it may be a friend or an enemy; it may be a demon; it may be a situation; it may be a series of situations to bring you into despondency or depression.

The good news is that you have ALREADY WON! All you have to do is APPROPRIATE YOUR VICTORY through faith. Claim the promises in God’s Word. Take your authority over the enemy and bind him in Jesus’ name, casting him away from hindering you and your associates. Loose – invoke – the ministry of the Holy Spirit into the situation. Commission the Holy Angels to help you … if you don’t know how to do this, then just ask God to send the Holy Angels to help you. At times you may want to fast and listen to God for new instructions.

Whatever you do … don’t quit! If you quit, you can’t win. If you don’t quit, you’ll win!

The bigger the goal(s) … the more patience you’ll need. The scripture says, “Knowing this, that the trying [or, testing] of your faith works [accomplishes] patience.” [James 1:3] Hang in there … you’re going to go through! Just like an athlete, you must learn to pace yourself. Don’t go too slow … don’t go too fast. You can’t make it on your own … your not strong enough to last.

Learn to enjoy the presence of Christ and draw on His strength. His strength is made perfect in your weakness! [2 Corinthians 12:9]

You do NOT have to be afraid of failure … and you do NOT have to be afraid of success. God has designed you for SUCCESS.

For God has NOT given us the spirit of fear; but He has given us the spirit of power, and of love, and of a sound mind and self control.”
[2 Timothy 1:7]

WHAT TO DO AFTER THE VICTORY – PART B

Immediately after the victory for which you have fought, prayed, and believed in faith, will subtly appear one of your most dangerous attacks from the enemy. It will NOT be like the attack(s) BEFORE your conquest: to discourage you, to make you afraid, to cause loss of integrity, loss of a loved one, or loss of possessions. All of which attacks you can defeat … and withstand … by living holy and living a life of faith and trust in God.

But this attack will be so delicate or precise as to be difficult to analyze or describe. You will not be capable, without discernment from God, of making fine distinctions as to the source of the attack. It will be overt and delicately complex. There will be put in place clever and indirect means by the enemy to achieve your downfall: spiritually, socially, materially, physically, and mentally … in that order.

This two-part newsletter is being written to instruct you as to how to offset this kind of attack, and to guard against it; also, to augment and solidify your recent victory, and to go on to higher and more productive accomplishments.

King Solomon tells us in the Book of Ecclesiastes that threefold cord is not easily broken. [Ecclesiastes 4:12] There are three things you can do to assure your maintenance of the victory and your own personal integrity. They are as follows:

[] Guard Against Pride

[] Monitor the Victory

[] Plan for the Future

In the previous newsletter we discussed the first thing you should do to assure the maintenance of your victory and your own personal integrity: Guard Against Pride.

In this newsletter we will discuss the second and third things you should do to assure the maintenance of your victory and your own personal integrity: Monitor the Victory; and, Plan for the Future.

[] MONITOR THE VICTORY

Is the business or ministry that was implemented as a result of the victory just accomplished helping people to grow? That is, is it making disciples for our Lord and, at the same time, advancing the kingdom of God? Are new synagogues and churches being raised up. Are you planning and praying for new churches and/or messianic synagogues to be raised up as a result of the business or ministry that was successfully implemented? If so, what will be your strategy for [harvesting AND] monitoring the new birthings that result from the victory?

Do you have literature prepared in the language(s) of the people or customers you will be reaching? What opportunities will be provided for the new believers to take part in your business or ministry so they may grow at optimum efficiency? (We’re NOT talking here about folding church bulletins!) How will you train the leaders of the movement?

Jesus wants you to give them “strong meat.” Not just salvation … but also enlargement. In the great commission He said to “teach them to observe ALL things I have commanded you …” [Matthew 28:18-20] That includes healing, forgiveness, casting out demons, prayer, fasting, love, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, unity, faith, and prosperity of resources.

“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season.” [Matthew 24:45]

“For when for the time you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.” [Hebrews 5:12]

Do you have methodology in place whereby you can obtain feedback from the new wave of the harvest? How will you “take the pulse” of the new believers and the leaders in the movement or business so you can help them yield to the lordship of Christ. Do you have a system in place … a plan of action … to monitor and ensure that the new disciples are becoming disciples of Christ and NOT disciples of men.

What you do NOT need is for the enemy to trick you, and you find out up the road that false discipleship is taking place: the believers are falling prey to the (false) covering movement where they become disciples of men and lose their liberty to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. They become robots instead of creators! This happened in the 1970’s and was a strategy of Satan to destroy the evangelistic and prophetic ministry. I know of cases where people had to ask permission from the elders for such things as taking flowers to a sick person or evangelizing a university.

Let the Holy Spirit do what He wants; but you fast, pray, and plan. Some people spend much time planning and preparing for their own financial and legal matters, but hardly any time planning and preparing for the efficient mobilization of God’s people and the necessary logistics.

Do you have plans ahead of time to facilitate the new believers being directed into houses of worship … OR … to teach them how to start a new church or messianic synagogue?

When a new fellowship of believers is raised up, what should you look for? What ministry gifts does the Holy Spirit usually give to the new local body of believers before the ministry of apostle? How should the leaders be chosen? Will the new leaders know how and when to send out workers to other fields?

How will you make sure that the NEW MOVEMENT which results from the recent victory will be multiplied? Never be satisfied with production or harvest alone … but always pray for an ANOINTING OF MULTIPLICATION!

To help you monitor the harvest, make disciples, start new houses of worship, build people up in the Word of God, and multiply the new movement, check out the following resources on the website at:

There are many subjects dealing with monitoring the harvest so you should examine each area of the RealMiracles website to derive the information relevant to the situation. For example, when I asked the questions above, “How should the leaders be chosen? Will the new leaders know how and when to send out workers to other fields?”, the answers are both subjective and objective.

If you study the scriptural pattern for new churches being established, you will see in Acts Chapter 13 that prophets and teachers were first called out by the Holy Spirit and then apostles sent forth. Study the Book of Acts and watch the scriptural pattern, an objective pattern laid out by the Holy Spirit. Also, notice how the apostles went back on subsequent journey(s) confirming the (souls of) the disciples.

However, there is “subjectivity” to the selection of leaders. You will see that the Holy Spirit “called” and then “sent forth” the apostles. In between the “calling” and the “sending forth” was the laying on of hands by the presbytery, ratifying the work of the Spirit. The aspect of “subjectivity” in the ordaining or choosing of leaders is of extreme importance. Let me give you an example.

While I was training pastors and Christian leaders in a jungle area, there were two predominant leaders. The brothers I knew who had been used by God to plant several churches in the area of that nation had two individuals in mind that they thought should be the leaders. However, the indigenous natives came to them and said, “They are not the leaders, it is someone else.” The leaders the people chose were the two that I had noticed.

[] PLAN FOR THE FUTURE

Jesus taught that we must be expedient concerning the harvest. It would be terrible mismanagement … extremely sinful … to allow the harvest to lay idle, and go unharvested: to allow it to rot.

“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night comes, when no man can work.” [John 9:4]

“Do not say, There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest. But, look, I say to you, focus with your eyes, and put your attention on these fields, for they are already white, ready to harvest.” [John 4:35]

My mother used to say many times, “Make hay while the sun shines!” (In other words, when night comes it’s too late to work … take advantage of the situation NOW!)

After your victory is the time the enemy will do his best to allure you with: Fame; Fortune; Lust; and,
Deception of any kind.

Don’t let your guard down!

You are at your weakest point of defense right after your victory. That’s the time to “RSPS”: Rest; Stay under the anointing; Plan, stretch out in faith; and, Start implementing your plans for the NEXT victory. It may be related to the harvest of your present (recent) victory.

Rest for a short period. Use this time to reflect and give thanks to God, and those people who assisted you, for the victory. Pray God’s blessing on those who assisted you!

Stay
under the anointing. Stay in the Word of God and prayer.

Plan. Use this period of rest to listen to God for the “skeletal” outline of your next project. Receive your plans from the Spirit. Then praise and thank Him in faith for the next victory!

Start
. Don’t wait for everything to be perfect before you implement. Don’t wait until all the conditions are right before you start. Count the cost, but use faith. You can refine after you implement.

I trust this series has helped you, and will protect you and make you even more productive in the future!

WHAT TO DO AFTER THE VICTORY – PART A

Immediately after the victory for which you have fought, believed in faith, and prayed will subtly appear one of your most dangerous attacks from the enemy.

It will be “covert” and delicately complex. There will be put in place clever and indirect means by the enemy to achieve your downfall: spiritually, socially, materially, physically, and mentally … in that order.

This newsletter is being written to instruct you as to how to “offset” this kind of attack, and to guard against it; also, to augment and solidify your recent victory, and to go on to higher and more productive accomplishments.

King Solomon tells us in the Book of Ecclesiastes that “a threefold cord is not easily broken.” [Ecclesiastes 4:12] There are three things you can do to assure your maintenance of the victory and your own personal integrity. They are as follows:

[] Guard Against Pride

[] Monitor the Victory

[] Plan for the Future

We will now discuss these three aspects.

[] Guard Against Pride

Let us examine some scriptures concerning pride, its effects, and what God thinks about it. It is not my purpose here to comment on each verse, but to provide a general overview of the consequences of pride and the response of God toward it.

“When pride comes, then comes shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.” [Proverbs 11:2]

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” [Proverbs 16:18]

“A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.” [Proverbs 29:23]

“But when his [Nebuchadnezzar’s] heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne; they took his glory from him.” [Daniel 5:20]

“Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.” [1 Timothy 3:6] “For all that is in the world, the evil desire of the flesh, and the evil desire of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” [1 John 2:16]

Thinking in your mind that you were the one responsible for the victory … forgetting that God gave you the victory … is a great insult to the Heavenly Father, and manifests a lack of mature thankfulness. The Lord led you to the people, provided the resources, gave you the wisdom, enabled you with skill(s), and blessed you with the anointing.

You may have temptations to boast about the victory; maybe not in a braggadocios manner, but in a subdued presentation of the victory as “your brainchild” … “your baby” … “your production”. Remember, God is all-seeing, He is watching whether you try to take the glory or whether you give Him the glory. He doesn’t NEED the glory, but He is looking for the character in your heart, that He might use you even more in the future.

Remember, you can have your rewards here on earth … or in Heaven. The Lord Jesus taught us:

“Pay attention that you do not do your charitable donations before men, to be seen of them: otherwise you have NO reward of your Father which is in Heaven.” [Matthew 6:1]

“Therefore when you do your charitable donations, do not sound a trumpet before you [to draw attention to yourself and your works], as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Truly I say unto you, they have their reward.”

“But when you do your charitable donations, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does. This way, your charitable donations may be confidential; and your Father which sees your confidential works Himself will reward you openly.” [Matthew 6:1-4]

You don’t get any reward from the Father when you try to draw attention to your good works. You already received your reward; that was to have yourself and your works … your “victory” … seen by men. Like the old saying, “You can’t eat your cake and still have it, too!”

However, if you do your works confidentially (sometimes you can’t keep them confidential), in your heart NOT trying to draw attention to yourself, but wanting God to receive the glory, then you will have your rewards BOTH on earth and in Heaven. In this way you will be able to eat your cake and still have it in Heaven!

This mindset has to be established ahead of time or you will not be able to resist the temptations to boast. If you do fall prey to boasting, Satan will have a “hook” in you called “pride” and try to use it to steal your earthly blessings and to bring you down. His chief objective in all this, however, will be to keep you from being powerfully used by God again in the future.

One way of boasting, and thus giving in to pride, is through the vanity of numbers or size. King David was guilty of this and many innocent people lost their lives. [1 Chronicles Chapter 21] “And David’s heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the Lord, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O Lord, take away the iniquity of thy servant, for I have done very foolishly.” [2 Samuel 24:10]

Some of the ancient rabbis put up walls around the Torah to keep people from breaking the law. In other words, they had man made laws to act as a “buffer zone” to keep people from getting too close to breaking one of the laws in the Torah (the five books of Moses, the Pentateuch). Maybe it would be wise to make a personal decision not to number people or things (other than for inventory or important purposes and records) as a guard against using these numerical values as a tool for boasting or personal aggrandizement. I’m not talking about being legalistic, but about setting a path for humility.

One way to set up walls to help us guard against pride is to search the scriptures and find out what pride is about, and then do the opposite. For example, when the Holy Bible tells us, “A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.” [Proverbs 29:23], then we can see that it would be to our profit to seek to be “humble in spirit.”

One area of pride, and there are many facets, is in the area of relationships. I’m not talking about immoral, or ungodly, relationships, but about bragging,or even mentally boasting that we know or closely associate ourselves with someone who is well known. I’m not talking about honoring and being thankful of associations with people who have the favor of God on their lives … but about giving preference or showing respect of persons.

James, the brother of our Lord and the first bishop of the church of Jerusalem, taught us:

“For if there come unto our assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment, and you have respect to him that wears the magnificent clothing, and say unto him, ‘You sit here in a good seat,’ and say to the poor person, ‘You stand here …’; are you not then showing partiality, and have become judges of evil thoughts.” [James 2:2-4]

The scripture admonishes us in Romans 12:16 to “Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.” In other words, be of the same mind toward all people, whether rich or poor, politically connected or not, educated or uneducated, whether advantageous to our cause or not. This is another way to guard against pride.

It may take working at as we learn to lean on the Holy Spirit, but it will help us to maintain our well fought victories and also help us go on to higher and more productive accomplishments. Specifically, it will let God see that we are willing to let the metal of our hearts be refined so that He might use us more greatly for His glory!

So far we have discussed the first thing you should do to assure the maintenance of your victory and your own personal integrity:

[] Guard Against Pride.

In subsequent newsletters we will discuss the second and third things you should do to assure the maintenance of your victory and your own personal integrity:

[] Monitor the Victory; and,

[] Plan for the Future.

YOU HAVE NOT PASSED THIS WAY BEFORE

What is the circumstance that is standing between you and your Promised Land?

What is keeping you from attaining the Holy Spirit goals you have been praying for?

What is the lie the enemy keeps telling you that has kept you from entering in?

TODAY IS YOUR DAY OF DELIVERANCE

After the children of Israel lodged for three days at the brink of the Jordan River, Joshua sent officers through the camp who commanded the people:

“When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it. Yet there shall be a space between you and the ark, about 2,000 cubits (1,000 yards or 914 meters) by measure. Do not come near the ark, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.” [Joshua 3:1-4]

The Hebrew root word for “passed” used above is “abar” [ah-var] which means “to pass over, go through, pass beyond, or to make a transition [figuratively or literally].”

To arrive INSIDE your Promised Land, you will have to go through a TRANSITION!
The Hebrew word “abar” also means “to pass from one side to the other side.”

Interestingly enough, a derivative of the word “abar” is “Ibriy” which means “Hebrew” and is the ethnic description of Abraham and his seed line, who was a descendant of Eber, the great grandson of Noah’s son Shem.

Genesis 14:13 talks about “Abram the Hebrew.” Exodus 7:16 mentions “the LORD God of the Hebrews.” Here “Hebrews” represents a tribe of Semites (sons of Shem).

Abraham “crossed over” the Euphrates River from Haran to Canaan
, the land God promised him. How did he do it? . . . through OBEDIENCE! Abraham, his wife Sarah, and his nephew Lot had originally left Ur of the Chaldees with his father, Terah, and arrived in Haran. It’s possible the LORD had wanted Terah to take the trip of faith from Haran and he may not have obeyed; possibly that is why God chose Abraham.

If you don’t do it, God will find someone who will! Are you willing to make the transition from your comfort zone to a blessed place where millions of other people will be blessed by your life and ministry?

The people of Israel were commanded to stay a great distance from the Ark as it would show them the way (verses 3 and 4). You are NOT to jump ahead of the LORD but to honor His holiness, just as the people honored the sacredness of the Ark. Let God lead you . . . and then follow Him in faith. He understands when you’re not sure; but He also understands when you don’t obey.

If your plans fit into God’s plans . . .

You will have God’s faith . . .

And God’s faith always works!

Then you can pass over and make the transition to the Promised Land: the completion of the Holy Spirit goals you have prayed for so long!

You have grown stagnant because you are resting on past laurels.

You are so satisfied with what you have already achieved that you are NOT making any further effort.

Whether or not you received praise from men, or just satisfied that God has seen the fruit of your labor and sacrifice, you are retired to the junk yard of rusty Christians.

There is a time for rest, recreation, and relaxation, especially for Christians on the front line of ministry. If you have not already, study my teaching on REST WILL HELP YOU IN WELL DOING. Also, study my teaching DO NOT CARRY THE BURDEN OF LEADERSHIP BY YOURSELF.

There are different phases of your life just as there are different seasons in the year. Some of you reading or listening to this message may be in the autumn or winter of our life. However, God is the Creator, and if you ask Him, He will direct you into some type of service where you can still do exploits for the Kingdom: maybe intercession, maybe baking anointed cookies and laying hands on them for MIRACLES and SALVATION before you give them out to people.

FAITH and the ANOINTING are partners. You cannot operate in the exercise of one without the other. Under the anointing, and when you are operating in faith, you are positioned both spiritually and physically between God and those to whom your ministry is directed (be they in your immediate presence or continents away).

Because of this positioning you are quickened, you are stimulated, you begin to feel the fetus move in your spiritual womb.

You are NOT bored!

THE SECRET

Do you know your goals for God every day when you get up in the morning? Or do you have to struggle mentally to interfuse them with your daily schedule. Maybe you are a housewife, or a businessman, or construction worker. Whatever your vocation in life, your REAL JOB (that is, your spiritual job description) was defined before the foundation of the world.

No, I am not talking about serving God by living holy or being a witness for Christ; these are definitely part of the lifestyle of a real follower of Jesus: one who has had an actual rebirth spiritually at a specific point in time and space. I’m talking about fulfilling the occupational part of your ministry, or more correctly, God’s ministry through you.

You will never know this until you have spent a life defining period either alone with God or (in the case of a busy mother) in a time of consecration with God. Your spiritual occupation will define your life goals (both major and minor) and help you in your decision making processes (both major and minor): both long-term and daily.

After you begin operating in your spiritual occupation, the LORD will from time to time revise or add to your responsibilities as you develop and show proof to Him of successful stewardship. (Matthew 25:14-30) He may even instruct and lead you into a completely different spiritual occupation after a period of time. This is why we need to have times of refreshing that the Holy Bible mentions.

You must take off the wraps when you are seeking direction from God and instructions for your life and spiritual occupation. Do not be afraid to THINK BIG. Realize that God may have something in mind for you that you have never considered or thought of. That is where obedience comes into play. Also, do not share your instructions from God with other people to get feedback. If you KNOW it is God … and if it lines up with the Word of God … then DO IT!

Lots of people have been led off the path of the will of God for their life by weird people … and even by two or three confirmations of a wrong thing by weird people. By weird people I am talking about people who have no real productivity in their lives but who are always prophesying falsely to other people.

This is why you need to start every day by reading and communicating with God in His Holy Word and then in prayer. God has thoughts ABOVE your thoughts. His thoughts are NOT your thoughts.

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. [Isaiah 55:8-9]

This is where, again, it is important to take off the wraps! Do not just think outside the box! God is not limited to three dimensions, or even to time and space. Just read His Word and LISTEN! Just talk to Him and LISTEN. Just pray in tongues and LISTEN! This is why Ephesians 3:20 tells us that our Heavenly Father is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

That POWER in us is the energizing of our inner man by the renewing of the Word of God and the anointing by the Spirit of God as we listen, receive by faith, and obey. Here is where many people miss the mark: OBEY. We may be students of the Word, some even professors of theology in graduate schools; however, we may miss the mark of obedience. And, missing the mark is equated with sin. We can be obedient in lifestyle and witness; however, when God directs us to take a definitive life style changing move, are we obedient? Changing cultural settings or leaving our comfort zones are examples of such.

Isaiah tells us that the Word of God will not return void. It will cause you to be PRODUCTIVE in your spiritual occupation and it will make the way for your PROVISION. You will be productive and God will provide for you!

For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there. But they water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower [for production] and bread to the eater [for provision], so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth. [Isaiah 55:10-11]

Spend time in the Word of God. It won’t return VOID. It will accomplish in your life and in the earth (the nations of the world) what God pleases. God’s Word will prosper in the purposes for which God sends it. Why not be a channel for His Holy Word. The Word of God shall not return to Him VOID, but it shall accomplish what He pleases, and it shall prosper in the thing for which He sends it. [Isaiah 55:10-11]

The Hebrew word VOID used in this passage is racham which means empty, without fruit or productivity. So if you want to know your spiritual occupation, and thereby make it a lot easier for your day by day decision making. If you want to know life at the fullest, the abundant life Jesus promised you, and if you want to be productive and see the provision of God in your life, then spend time in God’s Word.

Spend time in the Word of God: for your sake, and for the sake of God. What would you think if your children were so busy working but they never spent time with you? Many people in ministry are doing the same thing. Busy about God’s work but spending very little time with God. When we do this we not only lose out on fellowship with the GREATEST PERSON in the universe but we lose out on our own productivity and provision.

Spend time in God’s Word: things will begin to click in your life. You will be in the center of the will of God. God will provide for you. You will be productive. You will have the joy of working at your REAL JOB: the occupational ministry God chose for you before the foundation of the world. Remember, the thoughts of God are higher than your thoughts. But you have to KNOW His Thoughts!

The secret is in His Word!
