HOW TO MAINTAIN THE ANOINTING AND BLESSING

“For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved;
in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.”
— Isaiah 30:15

“And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.”  — Isaiah 30:18

Verses 15 and 18 above in Isaiah Chapter 30 are the “bookends” surrounding the context of verses 16 and 17, which has reference to Judah’s trust in the swift horses of Egypt.

Many times we, as God’s People, seek after God for His provision, healing and miracles. However, after receiving the blessings of God in position, prosperity or prominence, we forget that it was God Who “brought us out … that He might bring us in” to our present position.

Forgetfulness … where we came from, how we got where we are, and Who brought us OUT that He might bring us IN … becomes manifest by a lack of heartfelt, sincere thankfulness. When we stop being thankful to the LORD for what He has done for us or what He given us, we then start trusting in the “swift horses of this world.”

Turning back — returning — from our flesh-like preparations (such as Judah’s embassage to Egypt) and ceasing — resting — from our non-anointed, non-directed visions and plans will result in wholeness and peace in our body, mind and spirit. Then we will have quietness and confidence again.

The LORD will wait so that He can be gracious unto us when we seek after Him again with a thankful heart, acknowledging that He, and He alone, brought us out that He might bring us in to a place of position, prosperity and prominence. When He is exalted again, He will have mercy upon us.

We are blessed when we wait upon the LORD. It is interesting that the Hebrew word here used in verse 18 for “wait” is the word “chakah” which is a primitive root with the idea of “piercing” or “adhering to” and therefore a “closeness of being by waiting upon.”

In returning and rest you will be saved. You will be blessed when you wait upon God.
