Several books have been written in recent years dealing with End Time scenarios and chronology especially with regard to Israel, the Tribulation Period and Armageddon. However, none of these have dealt with the two most basic principles of geopolitical upheaval:

The Uncertainty Principle; and,

Chaos Theory.

As a preface to this treatise, may I direct you to The Art of Christian Warfare series located in the online study forum at The University of Excellence. My reason for doing so is twofold:

1. Your first line of defense should be spiritual warfare; and,

2. What good is it to know – or think you know – about eschatological (end time) warfare if you are not prepared for warfare in the present. Also, if you just “happen” to be positioned in the segue to tribulation time(s), you will … above all else … need to know all you can about spiritual warfare.

The Uncertainty Principle

The Uncertainty Principle is basic to every day life. Having learned such is your first doorway to maximum (natural) achievement in any long term endeavor. You might want to study my two publications dealing with the Principle of Uncertainty as it relates to the following:

CHINA has much to gain from the demise of the US … and the US dollar, as opposed to India, who only wants positioning on the NEW Global Currency as part of world economic leadership. However, China has plans in place for the downfall of the USA in international psychology, or game theory – similar to inter-corporate group dynamics – and based upon the Nash Equilibrium.

Prince Handley believes that China will at some point in the next 5 to 7 years assume an already SECRETLY SCHEDULED strategy – replacing its “seeming” position as regards its “partners of probability” in the Nash Equilibrium scenarios – of The Kuebler-Ross Model of Change, and use SHOCK to their advantage in order to argue for ACCEPTANCE in the 10 region New Global Governance along with Islam … to the rejection of its diplomatic ties with not only its other competitors, but mainly its diplomatic friend: Israel.

[ 2 ] Faith, Quantum Physics and Your Future

One reason you need to see the future – and to understand the influence of uncertainty – is so you can effectively profit from:

The past and present:

The nature of reality; and,

The operation of faith.

The Past

You may march off to the woods or go to war without having a knowledge of history, or as one who suffers from amnesia, but you can perform neither effectively nor optimally.

The Present

To advance into the Future, you must occupy a position in the present.

The Future

If you don’t relate to the future, you can NOT minimize latency with the past and the present; therefore, you do not interact with optimal information for decision making and action.

As stated above, to advance into the future you must have a quantized / momentary position in the present (you need a position from which to advance); And, for logistical purposes you require:

Knowledge;

Material;

Experience; and,

Networks.

All of the above are derived from the past … even though you are operating in the momentary, quantized, present, The “present” will be the past location when you advance.

For all practical purposes, we (as a Global Society) can forget about climate change and long term environmental mandates. These will prove to be miniscule efforts and will have microscopic results in relation to what is set to happen. These expenditures of time, labor and money would be much better spent on providing: 1. Relief efforts to famine stricken areas; and, 2. Water wells to areas who have no or minimal clean water resources. We learn from The Revelation that in the future the following three life critical emements are going to be toxically contaminated to the extent of harmful effects on the human race:

Soil,

Air,

Water.

I suggest you refer to Revelation and End Times: A Flow Chart of End Time Happenings.

The influence of uncertainty is NOT even on the agenda of most prophecy writers – or readers. What IF all the money received from books, TV, DVD’s and seminars dealing with prophecy and end times were redirected towards future strategies dealing with the influence of uncertainty in the end times. Let me give you just two examples:

1. What about the other believing Jews around the world (in the Time of Jacob’s Trouble … the Great Tribulation) who do NOT make it to the place prepared in the wilderness (maybe Petra?) where the believing Jews flee from the pseudo messiah? (See Brit Chadashah: Revelation 12:13-17.)

2. What about creating mass media advertising about Mashiach, the End Times, and the “pseudo mashiach” to prepare Jews and others for what we know is really going to happen in the End Time. A marketing blitz that will NOT be forgotten; one that will cause people to think and remember – and be aware – of WHAT is really happening WHEN it happens!

Chaos Theory

The Uncertainty Principle prohibits accuracy. The evolution of a complex system can therefore NOT be accurately predicted … except by skeletal “waymarks” such as in Bible prophecy.

The two main components of chaos theory are the ideas that systems – no matter how complex they may be – rely upon an underlying order, and that very simple or small systems and events can cause very complex behaviors or events. This latter idea is known as sensitive dependence on initial conditions , a circumstance discovered by Edward Lorenz (who is generally credited as the first experimenter in the area of chaos) in the early 1960s.

However, Chaos Theory allows for GREAT departure – and at the same time – possible overlapping or “nearly repetitive cycles” of the initial conditions. For example, the “Seal, Trumpet and Bowl” judgments in the Book of Revelation might NOT have to be only consecutive or segmentally chronological. They may overlap … they may coincide … they may be simultaneous after unfolding … and, they may have NO predictability … EXCEPT that we KNOW they will happen!

Summary

As good stewards of Messiah Yeshua, because of the influence of uncertainty and the complex behaviors inherent with chaos dynamics, we must prepare and publish a worldwide permanent body of knowledge structured upon Biblical Prophecy for the following:

Easily accessible and permanent information about Future Environmental Toxicity
(the Judgments of The Revelation) – WHAT to do (i.e., how to know Jesus); and,

Media preparation for Jews, Israel, and Gentiles – WHAT will happen and WHY!

CHALLENGE:

Will you be the one to create and implement an End Time MEDIA project to
inform Jews, Israel and Gentiles of WHAT will happen soon on Planet Earth?

We must also ramp up on spiritual warfare: both individually and corporately as members together in Messiah’s Body. Maintain “looking for His appearing,” but stop arguing with other believers about when or when not the “rapture” will happen. (It wasn’t a doctrine in the church until the 1800′s anyway.) Fellowship with other believers; focus on the KEY prophecies, and win people to Messiah Jesus!

Lots of people I talk to say they are going to WAIT until the Believers are missing, and then they will receive Jesus. We need to tell them WHAT is going to happen … and to get ready NOW … because a strong delusion is going to be sent upon the Planet Earth.

Make sure YOU are ready for whatever happens … whenever it happens: the Lord Jesus “catching you up” … or the judgments falling first. I have attended the BEST Christian conservative theological seminaries in the world; one, just to study eschatology (plus the University of Judaism). Also, I studied under four of the top Hebrew and Greek scholars who worked on the NASV. Our view of WHEN the Believers in Messiah will be caught up in the air to be with Him is something WE decide for ourself … but WHEN He actually does this may be different. Our job is to watch for His Appearing!

Many evangelical Bible teachers changed their view in the last 20 years?! My view of WHEN the Lord will “catch away” His People will NOT change WHEN He does it. I’m just going to keep looking for … and loving … His return!

Here’s something to think about: If we get mad at other Believers about their view of the “rapture” … OR … if WE don’t or can’t fellowship with other believers because of their view of the “rapture” … guess who needs help!

FOLLOW YOUR HEART – PART 3

If you have not listened to the last two podcasts of this three part series do so soon. They were produced to help protect you so you can be productive and happy … and maintain a “sound” mind!

IMPORTANT: The reason I am bringing this series on “Follow Your Heart” to you is because of the current economy and the forthcoming stress forces that will operate in the future. Europe is in GREAT trouble economically; however, the USA will suffer GREATER hardship in the next four (4) to six (6) years. Since we are now a global economy acted upon by an international financial complex, what happens in one sector influences the whole spectrum. But since the US Dollar is the leading support for world currency, when the US falls, the world economy will also take a more devastating plunge than Europe is experiencing now.

The message I am bringing to you is extremely important for you … not only for the economy in which we live today … but for your future. There are … and will be many things – stressful things – which will push and pull on you from different spheres. Do NOT be “tricked” into making a bad decision.

Psalm 37:3 tells us: “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt you dwell in the land, and truly you shalt be fed.”

IMPORTANT: In this third part of the series I am going to “stretch” your mind a few times to force you to think … to re-evaluate … current or future decisions because of the current economy and the forthcoming stress forces that will operate in the future. situations in unfamiliar grounds.

We read an interesting experience that happened in the life of Amaziah, the king of Judah  (the portion of Scripture in 2 Chronicles 25:5-9). He had gathered 300,000 men from Judah to go to war, plus another 100,000 from Israel for 100 talents of silver. (NOTE: That is the equivalent of 7,500 pounds (avoirdupois weight) of silver, or about $4,200,000 USD.)

“But there came a man of God to him, saying, O king, don’t let the army of Israel go with you; for the LORD is not with Israel, with all the children of Ephraim.

But if you will go, do valiantly, and be strong for the battle: God will cast you down before the enemy; for God has power to help, and to cast down.

Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? The man of God answered, the LORD is able to give you much more than this.”

King Amaziah obeyed the man of God and experienced victory.

Our beloved Jewish brother James says: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men with an open hand, and without an unkind word; and it shall be given him.

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

Brit Chadashah: James 1:5-8

If you are wondering if you are being “double minded,” you need to make sure of this decision. Conversely, this is EXACTLY WHY you should have made sure of the decision before you initiated the advancement. (I will cover more on this later in this message.)

At this point – if you do NOT have peace about what you are doing … or getting ready to do … you may think you are unstable by being “double minded.” Well, ask yourself this question. Am I better off continuing in this endeavor if I do NOT have peace about it … or am I better off to turn back to the place where I had peace before.

THIS BRINGS TO THE FRONT A SITUATION FOR WHICH YOU MUST HAVE DISCERNMENT

Is it the devil trying to discourage you through doubt? Is the devil afraid of the great rewards that will be reaped by your continuing on in the advancement  you have initiated?

OR …

Did you make a mistake by initiating an advancement that:

You were to start at another time (a later date)?

… OR

You were NOT to initiate?

AANSWER: After praying, what do you have peace about doing? Continuing on? … Or, turning around?

Let’s look at Isaiah 30:21 again. We read a beautiful record of the leading of God.

“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk you in it;’ when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left.”

Learn to listen to the voice of the LORD: “This is the way; you walk in it.”

NOTICE: I had to do this one time. It not only cost me lots of money that I would have made, but it also cost me lots of money to “turn around.”

Another thing to consider is that maybe your body – or, your mind – is telling you to turn around. There may be a physiological problem that could occur up the road, and God is trying to warn you ahead of time.

The psychosomatic and neurological complexes of your mind and body influence each other: but … unknown to many … also help monitor your physiological processes in a way which can be helpful. God can speak to you through them if you listen. This does NOT contradict divine healing … or the fact that there is healing in The Atonement purchased by the BLOOD of Mashiach Yeshua (Messiah Jesus). But, just like the auto mechanic can repair cars, a clanking piston may be an indication of a broken piston rod that needs repair.

You may have already spent time and money initiating the process in which you are involved– or, the path which you are traveling. CAUTION: If you feel NOW that you should NOT be doing this, then get off the path … TURN AROUND … go back to where you had peace before: even if it costs you!

This is WHY you have to MAKE SURE at the beginning – BEFORE YOU START –that you WANT TO … you’re supposed to … do this thing. You need to KNOW that you are to initiate, carry forward and FINISH the proposed advancement.

This way, when confusion or doubt enter in, you will be able – you will WANT TO – resist them in faith and with confidence and continue the advancement.

“Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.  For by this, the elders obtained testimony.” (Brit Chadashah: Hebrews 11:1 – New Testament)

“And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever.” (Tanakh: Isaiah 32:17 – Old Testament)

“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.” (Brit Chadashah: Hebrews 10:22) Notice again what this verse says: “In full assurance of faith.”

In Habbakuk 2:4 (Tanakh) we read: “Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.” Be careful of pride: it will bring you down. And, in the future economy you for sure don’t want to be “brought down.” The GREAT NEWS is that “Those who have been made in right standing by the sacrifice of Mashiach Yeshua, Son of David, will be restored and live … AND continue in wholeness … by their faith and moral integrity.”

When you KNOW FOR SURE, my friend, that you are on the divinely inspired route for a particular advancement, then whenever doubt or unbelief or fear arise to challenge you, simply CLAIM and DO the following:

“Be in anxiety about nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep – shall guard – your hearts and minds through Messiah Jesus.” (Brit Chadashah: Philippians 4:6-7)

In this petition you can ask God to help you, to give you wisdom if you do NOT KNOW how to operate in the advancement, and to encourage you all the way to VICTORY. Remember to THANK HIM during your request because you KNOW He is going to answer you!

I trust this teaching has … and will … help you, my friend. We are living in an age which is very volatile spiritually. The saints of God are making great advancements in and for the Kingdom through divine intelligence and strategy. This is WHY the enemy is so frustrated and wants to unleash vigorous attacks upon your mind and effort. BUT REMEMBER … the victory has already been purchased by our Leader, Messiah Jesus. It is finished and you have been given the KEYS to Heaven and Hell: the KEYS of binding and loosing. Just make sure that the advancements you propose are FOR SURE according to the Will of God before you start them.

GO FORWARD!!!

GIVING LIFE: THE PROCESS OF PAIN, POWER AND PRAISE!

IMPORTANT:

In the Torah we read, “And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” (Torah, Genesis 2:18)

Now … the word “Helpmeet” means different things to different people:

To Adam, it meant “Servant.”

To Eve it meant “Men need help!”

To G-d, it means, “Vengeance is mine!” (that’s a joke)

But the original root meaning of that word in the original Hebrew language is “aw-zar,” and it means “to surround; to help.” (It’s nice to have someone around to surround you at times, to help you.)

Notice the first command God gave to Adam and Eve: “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it.” (Torah: Genesis 1:28) They were to replenish not only the Garden, but humankind. Not, necessarily “kind humans” but children!!!

There’s an old saying, “It takes two parents to make one good child.”

After I wrote my thesis, I was told by two different doctors in two different states of the USA (in writing) the same as that I would never have children. Like Abraham, I just believed G-d that He would give me a child. When the wife was not pregnant by two months after we were married I called an orphanage to see if we could adopt; but was turned down.

Well, finally about 18 months later I was working on the lawn and the wife came downstairs and told me, “I’m pregnant.” I was so excited that I ran around a whole city block praising God. It took me about, probably, 7 to 10 minutes. When I returned, the wife was crying because she thought that when she told me she was pregmant I ran away!! Well, I have had seven (7) children since then!

Eve experienced the FIRST pains of childbirth. If you are a parent, you have undoubtedly experienced pains or sadness resulting from something that has happened to your child(ren).  Giving life hurts, including spiritual life: helping others find and grow in the LORD … but JOY overrides any pain attributed to the life process.

One time, two of my daughters cut my hair – more correctly a hole in my hair – while I was sleeping. That was really a wonderful experience because I had to speak at a meeting in about two hours.

Another time, after an exhausting two weeks of outreach at the Olympics, while I was sleeping,  two of my daughters put pink crème on my ears and were massaging them, trying to shape them like a Doberman’s trimmed ears (pointed straight up!). I think they wanted me to tryout for StarTrek.

On another occasion, one of my sons set the bed on fire underneath his mother while she was sleeping. (I haven’t figured that one out yet!)

I wonder what – not only sins, but stupid things – we have done to our LORD who stills is pleased to call us His children.

The Bible tells us the Messiah Yeshua, because of the JOY set before Him, endured the pain of the cross-stake.

“Looking unto Yeshua, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the JOY that was set before him endured the cross-stake, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2)

Because Messiah  Jesus saw YOU and me having our sins forgiven because of what He was going to do (even with the suffering) on the cross-stake, He was willing to endure the PAIN and SUFERING of the Roman crucifixion.

WHAT IS IT YOU’RE GOING THROUGH TODAY, MY FRIEND?

I’M AWARE THAT I’M SPEAKING TO SOMEONE WHO IS ABOUT READY TO QUIT.

YOU HAVE BEEN MISTREATED … MISUNDERSTOOD …  MISMANAGED … BUT MISINFORMED!

G-d has placed me in your path this day to tell you that it is NOT the people doing it to you … it is Satan, your enemy. Your are NOT listening to me by mistake, my friend.

The people who are attacking you are only instruments. God will deal with them. Their feet shall slide in due time.

But YOU must deal with the devil. And, I have GOOD NEWS for you! The LORD has given you authority over Satan. Use the name of Jesus and the Word of God against the devil. The devil is NO match for you when you are under the anointing of G-d.  Jesus said, “Behold, I give unto you power … over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)

He also said, “Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the demons are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in Heaven.” (Verse 20)

Yeshua commanded YOU and me, His followers: “Whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall already have been bound in heaven: and whatever you shall loose on earth shall already have been loosed in heaven.” (Literal Greek translation from the Brit Chadashah, Hebrew New Testament: Matthew 18:18)

Messiah Yeshua did an unassisted triple play on a man who was:  1. Demon possessed; 2. Blind; and, 3. Could not speak. Immediately, the religious leaders accused Yeshua of casting out demons by the Prince of demons (Satan). Jesus answered them, “How can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? And then he will spoil his house.” In other words: bind Satan first, then go after his demons. Go after the demons who tell lies about you, or attack your finances, or your integrity … or who try to hinder you in anyway. Bind the strong man (Satan) and cast him out along with his demons that try to hinder you.

Here’s WHAT to do:

First, PRAY and plead (as in a LEGAL court pleading) the BLOOD of Messiah (or, Christ) over your situation.

Second, COMMAND the devil and his demons in the name of JESUS to depart … tell the devil and his evil spirits that Jesus is your LORD and you now APPLY the BLOOD of Jesus Christ against Satan and his hosts. Say it like this:

“Satan … Yeshua, the Messiah of Israel, is my LORD, and I APPLY His BLOOD that was shed on the cross for my sins against you, Satan and against all of your demons that would try to hinder me. I cast you and your demons out – away – from hindering me, and I remind you, Satan, of your future: which is Hell, the Lake of Fire … forever.”
Friend, if your life goals are set around ETERNAL things … things that last … like helping others to find The Way to Heaven … then you will at times experience some pain or hurt. But remember, “Weeping may endure for the night, but JOY comes in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5)

GIVING LIFE TO OTHERS (YOUR BIOLOGICAL CHILDREN AS WELL AS YOUR SPIRITUAL CHILDREN) SOMETIMES HURTS. HOWEVER, YOU ALWAYS HAVE POWER OVER THE DEVIL AND HIS DEMONS IN THE NAME OF JESUS WHO GIVES YOU AUTHORITY. BUT REMEMBER … YOUR REAL JOY SHOULD BE BECAUSE YOUR NAME IS WRITTEN IN HEAVEN. (AND … THE NAMES OF THOSE WHO RECEIVE MESSIAH THROUGH YOUR HELP ARE ALSO WRITTEN DOWN IN HEAVEN.)

“The JOY of the LORD is your strength.” (Tanakh: Nehemiah 8:10)

This special presentation will expose the fraudulent, faithless, and foolish teaching that has weakened … if not destroyed … the faith of many seminary graduates who once had a bright light in their eye and a goal towards a lifetime of service in both orthodox and conservative synagogues and churches.

Powerless and impotent professors beget powerless and impotent rabbis and ministers. Like things produce like things. It’s not the survival of the fittest that is a problem for evolution … but it is the ARRIVAL of the fittest. In like manner, it is the arrival upon the scene of Spirit-filled, faith believing rabbis and ministers who bring an influx of G-d, His glory, and His miracles into houses of worship.

Many theological seminaries who were once beacons on the hill for truth and the integrity of G-d’s Word have departed from the core belief that the Holy Bible (Tanakh and Brit Chadashah) is the inspired, inerrant word of G-d in entirety. Instead of turning out powerful men and women of G-d, they are producing leaders who at the best are social and theological evolutionists … and at the worst are shepherds for a neutered Mashiach: a powerless Jesus.

I attended the 2011 graduation ceremony at Azusa Pacific University where 1313 graduates were receiving degrees (B.A., Masters, and Ph.D). The speaker, the new President of the University, a Christian pastor of a large Nazarene church and from a family of many ministers, presented the message to the graduates. After listening to his whole speech, I wondered if he ever reads the Holy Bible … or when was the last time he read it. He mentioned that Abraham’s wife, Sarah, was 95 when she bore Isaac; he also mentioned that Gideon won the battle against the Midianites with only 30 men. Maybe he is just not good with numbers!

Many seminarians have had their faith destroyed by “mentors of madness.” However, it is not all the fault of the impotent professors. If the students were true scholars, they would at least spend as much time searching for truth as they do listening to the directives of their teachers. Just because a teacher has a Ph.D. does not mean he or she holds truth circumspectly. There are usually just as many Ph.D.’s holding positions on the opposite side of the aisle.

Most lay people are unaware of how different their rabbi’s or pastor’s academic view of the Bible is from their own view. If they were to find out that their rabbi or pastor did NOT believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of G-d in entirety, they would be shocked. Actually, this is no more than fraud on the part of leadership. They are being paid while at the same time leading their congregants or parishioners astray. They usually do NOT tell their people what they believe, unless symantically “masking” their real beliefs.

For example, they do NOT believe that the Holy Prophets could predict events ahead of time. (It makes you wonder how they deal with the prophecy of Bethlehem in Tanakh: Micah 5:2.) They do NOT believe, for example, that G-d could tell Isaiah ahead of time that Cyrus would take Babylon and free the Jews to return to Jerusalem. (See Isaiah 44:28 and 45:1-4) This prophecy was given to Isaiah 100 years before Cyrus was born … and called Cyrus by name. This is WHY many synagogues and churches are weak: they have leaders who have been brainwashed by seminary professors to NOT believe in the Word of G-d or in the prophetic ability of the Holy Prophets. (This is usually NOT a problem in yeshivah gedola.)

This transfers to a host of problems: lack of healing, lack of miracles and lack of power; all of which could give glory to G-d and benefit the people of G-d. A lack of TRUE scholarshhip in higher biblical criticism as taught by many seminary professors trickles down and influences the student … many times causing doubt towards the Word of G-d … and at the worst, producing destruction of faith. When a seminarian is taught falsely that there were two … or possibly even three … authors of the Book of Isaiah (Deutero Isaiah, Tertiary Isaiah, etc.), it causes them to doubt the authority of the Holy Bible.

It is for this reason that I am presenting this material to you. I want to prove to you how you can know that Isaiah wrote the Book of Isaiah.

“Hereupon the Persians who had been left for the purpose at Babylon by the, river-side, entered the stream, which had now sunk so as to reach about midway up a man’s thigh, and thus got into the town.” – Herodotus

In 539 BC, Cyrus son of Cambyses took Babylon without a struggle. According to the Greek historian Herodotus, Cyrus diverted the course of the Euphrates river, making the river level drop and giving the invading forces the ability to enter into the city that night through the river bed. Nobody noticed them coming in, and the city gates that opened up onto the river were not closed; the Persians were able to just walk into town. Within a year, Cyrus declared that all the Jews captive in Babylon were free to return home to Jerusalem, as described in Ezra Chapter 1.

These two events – the taking of Babylon the Great without a battle and the magnanimous freeing of the Jews soon after – are both remarkable historical events in themselves. What makes them even more notable is the fact that God told about them in Isaiah 44:26-45:1, 13, appointing Cyrus by name 100 years before this son of Cambyses was born.

The Book of Isaiah is one of the most greatly admired and beloved books of the Bible. The New Testament writers quote Isaiah more than all the other Old Testament prophets combined. From a literary point of view, the writing of Isaiah is superb, full of parallelism and euphony; scholars savor Isaiah’s obvious attention to the literary art of his writing.

Beyond his writing skill, Isaiah’s book is filled with prophecies about Judah and the surrounding lands. It also contains a host of very important Messianic prophecies (7:14-16; 9:1-7; 11:1-16; 32:1ff; 42:1-7; 50:5-8; 52:13-15; 61:1-3; 65:17), even describing in detail Jesus’ crucifixion 700 years before it happened.

In Isaiah 44 and 45, God not only describes the ease with which Cyrus would enter the city with the “two leaved gates” (gates that were not even shut against the invaders!) but also notes that He would “loose the loins of kings” before Cyrus – a euphemism regarding the fear these kings would feel and the mess in their pants they’d make as a result. As a matter of fact, about the time Cyrus’ men were entering the city, King Belshazzar, co-regent with his father Nabonidus, was being interrupted in his feast. A hand began to write on the wall to tell Belshazzar that his time was up. Daniel 5:6 puts in not-so-delicate terms how greatly the fear of this sight affected Belshazzar, saying, “his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.” Who says God isn’t detailed!

In circles of modern liberal criticism, though, it has become popular to dismiss the idea, held for some 2500 years, that Isaiah son of Amoz wrote the entire book credited to his name. Old Testament scholars have found it fashionable to argue that there were at least two “Isaiahs”, perhaps even three or more. These critics argue that it makes no sense for God to have foretold events that would not have taken place during the life of the prophet. They attempt to argue that the character of God in Isaiah 1-39 is far fiercer than the gentle God of Isaiah 40-66, that the language is different in the two sections, and that there are two different views of the Messiah between the first part of Isaiah and that written by the alleged Deutero-Isaiah. Ultimately, they do not believe that Isaiah could have written about Cyrus the Great in 700 BC. They cannot believe that the precise information in that prophecy could have been penned 150 years before it came to pass.

These criticisms can sound scholarly on the surface, but they depend far less on evidence than on a bias against predictive prophecy. While these scholars may believe that a bias against the supernatural – and the power of God to speak through His prophets centuries in advance – is scientific in this modern world, the truth is, it’s still a bias. It’s still just their opinion based on a humanistic worldview.

Honest scholarship strongly supports the historical view that Isaiah ben Amoz wrote the entire book with his name on it.

Historically, Isaiah has always been recognized as the author of all 66 chapters.

• The Septuagint: When the Septuagint was translated in the 3rd century BC, merely two centuries after Deutero-Isaiah was supposed to have been written, there was no indication that the book had more than one author.

• The New Testament: The New Testament writers treat the entire book of Isaiah as one book belonging to one author and quote him more than all the other prophets combined. In fact, in John 12:37-41, John quotes from Isaiah chapter 53 and chapter 6 back to back, giving Isaiah credit for both sections.

“But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

Isaiah 53:1; Romans 10:16

“Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,

He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.”

Isaiah 6:9,10; Mtatthew13:14

• The Dead Sea Scrolls: An entire copy of the book of Isaiah was found in the Dead Sea Scrolls. There is no separation between Chapters 1-39 and 40-66. In fact, chapter 40 starts on the last line of the same column that ends chapter 39. As Oswald Allis notes, “Obviously the scribe was not conscious of the alleged fact that an important change of situation, involving an entire change of authorship, begins with chapter 40.”
  

Internally, Isaiah offers extensive evidence of one author:

• Isaiah’s Hebrew: Throughout all 66 chapters, Isaiah uses pure Hebrew. Unlike Ezra and Nehemiah, which use terminology adopted from Babylon, Isaiah’s Hebrew is free from the vocabulary that the Jews gained during the exile.

• Jerusalem and the land: The destruction and future healing of Jerusalem are described in chapters 1-39, and Jerusalem is described as still standing in chapters 40-66, demonstrating distant prophecy in the first part of Isaiah and an early date for the end of Isaiah. For instance, in 3:8, Isaiah speaks of Jerusalem as already fallen and destroyed in the context of a prophecy about the future. In 6:11-13, which all agree is a passage by Isaiah son of Amoz, God describes the future destruction of the land followed by the return of the remnant. On the other hand, passages like 40:9 and 62:6 treat Jerusalem and the cities of Judah as still standing, as they were before the Babylonian invasion.

• Topography: The description of the topography in Isaiah 40-66 is the rocky mountainous land of Judah and not the flat alluvial Fertile Crescent. For instance, 57:5-6 describes the “clifts of the rocks” and the smooth stones of the streams.

• Themes: Certain themes and terminology are repeated throughout the book. The “highway” theme comes up repeatedly (11:16; 19:23; 35:8; 40:3; 62:10). Isaiah refers to God as “Lord of hosts” repeatedly throughout the entire book.  “The Holy One of Israel” is Isaiah’s distinctive name for God used 12 times in chapters 1-39 and 14 times in chapters 40-66. The phrase is only used six other times in the Bible outside of Isaiah.

• The significance of idolatry:  Idolatry was a major problem in Judah before the exile, but the post-exilic writers Haggai, Zechariah, Ezra, Nehemiah and Malachi do not mention idolatry even while discussing the nation’s other sins. Yet, in the latter end of his book, Isaiah continues to speak strongly against idolatry (41:29; 44:9-20; 57:4ff; 65:2-7), indicating an early authorship. 

• The by-line: Only Isaiah, son of Amoz, is named as the author throughout the book of Isaiah, at the beginnings of chapters 2, 7, 13, 20, 38, and 39. No other author is mentioned at all. Even when Ezra and Nehemiah were bound together, those two books did not get confused and lumped together under Ezra. Yet, “Deutero-Isaiah” was allegedly lost to history. Chapters 40-66 contain some of the highest quality literature in all of written history, yet we are expected to believe that this writer went mysteriously unrecognized until he was “discovered” by recent scholarship.
  

As Gleason Archer Jr. declared, “There is not a shred of internal evidence to support the theory of a Second Isaiah, apart from a philosophical prejudice against the possibility of predictive prophecy.”

Isaiah is an amazing book, filled with the power and passion of God. In it He declares, “I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:” (Isaiah 46:9-10).

One more thing you will find in every Jewish home at the Passover table is an EMPTY chair, some unleavened bread, and a cup of wine. But, no one uses the chair, touches the plate, or drinks from the wine. The question may be asked, “For whom is the chair, the plate, and the cup waiting?” The answer would be, “The chair, the plate, and the cup are waiting for Elijah, or the Coming One.” For every Jew is eagerly awaiting for Elijah that night, who is to announce and usher in the coming of the Messiah. [Malachi 4:5-6]

Just before the close of the Passover supper, which lasts until midnight, the oldest child arises from the table, goes to the door, and opens it for Elijah to make his entrance. There is a moment of expectancy, and the head of the house recites: “Thou God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Long have we waited for your promise. We beseech you now to send your anointed, whom You have promised, the Son of David. Have mercy upon your people Israel. Gather us according to your Word and we shall be Your people and You will delight in us as of old. Behold all things are ready and we wait.”

After a few minutes of waiting, the door is closed, and the head of the house recites: “How long, oh LORD, how long? Will Your anger not be turned away from Your people and will You have mercy and restore us to Your favor? Behold our suffering! We are scattered among the nations. They mock us, saying, ‘Where is your God? Where is the promise of His coming?’ We grow faint, yet we hope. Lord, our God, may it please You to gather Your people speedily, restore us to Your favor, at least next year may we celebrate this feast with you in Jerusalem, Your own habitation.”

It is a sad thing that many Jewish people should still be waiting, not knowing that Yeshua, their Messiah, has already come. Just as the Jewish apostles went out into all the world telling the goyim (the gentiles) the Good News of salvation, so you and I are to tell the Jewish people today the story of Jesus and His love: that He came 2000 years ago as the true PASSOVER LAMB, to redeem us with His BLOOD. Although the Lord Jesus asks us (rather, commanded us) to do this, very few Christians obey His command.

I preached in a large mission in Philadelphia which was run by a wonderful Jewish brother named Abraham Mazer. One day a Jewish woman came to a certain mission to hear what the Jewish believer had to say. It was Passover time and he told his people that Messiah had come and given His precious BLOOD for the salvation of both Jews and Gentiles. The woman left the mission before the service was over, but a few days later the Jewish brother learned who the woman was and where she lived. He went to see her and told her that Yeshua was our Passover lamb, giving His life for the sins of the whole world.

The woman then told Jewish man that she had had such good son. Her son loved her so much and all he wanted was to make his poor mother happy. Her son had been out of work for a long time. When he was finally called to come to work at a department store, he did not have enough clothes to dress warmly for the job. It was winter and he took a cold; a few days later developed pneumonia and died. Tears were streaming down her face as she said to the Jewish believer, “Why didn’t you come before? My son would have believed, he was such a son!”

Millions of Jewish graves are saying to you and to me, “Why didn’t you come before?!”

Because the Apostle Paul wrote: “Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us,” there was no more need to kill a Passover lamb. The Lord Jesus Christ was “the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world”. To ever remember His great sacrifice, the early followers of Messiah put the shinbone upon the Passover table. They used the unbroken shinbone because it was also written of Him, “no bone of His shall be broken.” The little piece of matzo hidden away on a high shelf was to the early Jewish Christians a picture and remembrance of Christ’s ascension into Heaven; bringing it down the next year reminded them of the promise of His coming again.

The use of the wine also comes from the Jewish believers in Christ. It is essential for the Passover because Jesus took the cup, gave thanks and gave it to the disciples. The wine must be red, resembling blood, because Jesus said: “This is my blood of the New Testament, shed for many for the remission of sins.” And everyone must partake of it because Jesus said: “Drink you ALL, of it.”

And what about this mysterious word “APHIKOMEN“? This is not a Hebrew word; rather it is a Greek word and reads exactly as the Jewish people pronounce it. What is the meaning of this mysterious word “Aphikomen”? It looks like a Greek word. Most scholars are agreed that it is, but different opinions exist as to its meaning. Some say it comes from “Epikomos” and means “dessert”. But that does not seem to be correct, since a great deal of violence had to be perpetrated on the word “Epikomos” in order to turn it into “Aphikomen.” But there is another Greek word, which gives a full and satisfactory explanation, and where violence is not at all necessary to give it meaning. It reads exactly as our Aphikomen. What does it mean? According to the Greek lexicon it means, “I CAME.” Who came? The One, obviously, whom the broken Matzo represents, namely, the Lord Yeshua, the True Pesach! [1]

Jesus was … and still is … saying: “The Angel of Death who spared the Israelites because He saw the blood of the lamb on the doors of their houses, will spare you from eternal death because he will see My BLOOD on the doors of your hearts though faith! As your fathers were delivered from the bondage of Egypt, so you will be delivered from the bondage of sin.”

It is interesting how the “Lord’s Supper” became the core of the Jewish Passover. The first Christians were almost all Jews in the early days of the Christian era. Every one of the first disciples of Yeshua was Jewish, with the possible exception of Luke. It has been estimated that almost 1,000,000 Jews became followers of the Lord Jesus in the first century AD. The old time synagogue in the first century accepted the Christian Jew. In the makeup of the synagogue in those days there were Pharisees, Sadducees, Hellenists, Essenes, and many other groups of Jewish belief systems. So when large numbers of Jews began to accept Yeshua as Messiah, they were still allowed to stay in the synagogue. They were known as Nazarenes, and were given respect and attention.

Now while the other Jews celebrated the Passover as instituted by Moses, Jewish believers in Messiah celebrated the same occasion with bread and wine, depicting in the observance the suffering, death and resurrection of the Lord. There were TWO (2) KINDS of Passover being celebrated, and as more and more Jews became followers of Messiah, there were more and more Jews who kept the Passover the NEW way: the way it is observed today!!

With the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in AD 70, the Old Testament Passover as commanded by Moses ceased. The only Passover observance, which survived within the Jewish nation, was that of the Hebrew Christians. The Messianic – Hebrew Christian – Passover, therefore, became the celebration of ALL Israel: the MAIN features of which were the bread (matzo cakes) and the wine.

Every year during the Passover Seder, when the Jews partake of the bread (matzo) and the wine, they are unconsciously celebrating the fact that Messiah’s body was broken for them, His blood shed for them, and that He is going to return to set up His Kingdom where He will celebrate with us the Passover!

It must be evident to you now that the description of the Passover service mentioned in Parts 1 thru 4 of this study are NOT mentioned in the Passover instructions recorded for us by Moses in Exodus Chapter 12. In this story there is NO mention of wine, or four (4) special glasses of wine, or an egg. Instead of a dry shinbone, the main feature of the original Jewish Passover was the roast lamb. And certainly there is no mention of three (3) special unleavened cakes and the ceremony of burying or hiding away half of the middle cake and bringing it forth at the end of the feast.

This marks a radical change from the feast initiated by Moses. When and how did this change come about? Nowhere in the writings of Moses, nor in those of the Rabbis during the 1500 years that followed the days of Moses, is there any question of wine as being necessary for the keeping of the Passover, or that it MUST BE RED! Who substituted the bread for the Passover lamb? Who made the wine an essential part, and why should it be RED like BLOOD? And why does the Jew today, while eating of the middle cake called APHIKOMEN, believe that he is eating the Passover lamb?

Although the Jewish people do not realize it, the origin of the use of the bread comes from the New Testament. The Jewish followers of Christ made the change during the immediate years after the Lord’s resurrection. It is because the Lord Jesus took bread and said: “This is my body.” It is He who gave His disciples bread and told them, as they were eating it, to believe that they were eating the sacrifice of the Passover.

The half piece of cake called APHIKOMEN is wrapped in a cloth and hidden, because when Jesus died on the cross His disciples took His body down, wrapped it in grave clothes and placed it in the tomb. The APHIKOMEN is later brought forth from its hiding place because on the third day God raised Jesus from the grave.

The APHIKOMEN is eaten as the last act of the Passover feast because the institution of the Lord’s supper took place at the close of the meal in the upper room in Jerusalem. The members of the family share it because the followers of Christ were regarded as the family of God. Jesus (Yeshua) is the bread of life to all that believe in Him!

Every single act done to the middle cake by the Jewish people today is descriptive of what happened to the Lord Jesus. It is therefore He whom the APHIKOMEN represents. And all the three (3) cakes are really symbolic of the Holy Trinity, the threefold revelation of the Godhead: God, the Father and Creator; God, the Savior or redeemer; and God, the Holy Spirit. The middle cake, which represents the Lord Jesus Christ, is the one that is broken. He was broken and He was crucified.

Notice, also, the fashion of the Passover cakes: with the stripes and holes pierced in them. There was no New Testament during the early church years, and only a few copies of the Old Testament scriptures in the hands of the leaders. The early followers of Christ wanted to impress and perpetuate the story of Christ for their children and children’s children. They wanted to teach them that the Lord Jesus Christ, Yeshua ha Meshiach, was the One Who fulfilled Isaiah 53: “Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.”

This is Part 4 of a seven (7) part series to help you understand the Biblical roots of the Passover. Also, to help you understand WHY and HOW the Passover being celebrated today is different from that given to Moses in the instructions by God in Exodus Chapter 12. HOW did the changes come about and WHY? You will have a deeper understanding and love for your LORD after this study!

THE PASSOVER – PART 4 OF 7

On the Passover table we find a number of interesting things, the meaning of which I will explain as we go along. There are dishes of grated apple, bitter herbs, unleavened bread, salty water, and an egg.

The grated apple turns its color into red representing the clay that the Israelites used to make bricks in Egypt. The bitter herbs are to remind them of the bitterness suffered as slaves under Pharaoh. (Jewish people usually make a mixture of bitter herbs into a paste and make little sandwiches for everyone to eat, including the little children, to impress upon them the bitterness they suffered in Egypt.

The unleavened bread is to remind them of the haste with which they had to depart from the land of slavery. The dish of salty water, in which the sop is dipped, represents the tears shed in Egypt, and also the Red Sea. This is also called the dish of reconciliation, or forgiveness. This dish was given by our Lord first to Judas (who was betrayed him) for Jesus was still willing and ready to forgive if Judas would have turned from his evil.

The egg is a “type” or picture of the grave and resurrection. Looking upon this egg the Jews are reminded that we are mortal and will someday be placed in the grave; but because there is life in the egg, they have hope of resurrection from the grave.

Everything on the table has a double meaning. Firstly, it points back to Egypt, to the deliverance of the forefathers from the land of bondage. Secondly, it points forward to the coming of the Messiah who will deliver them from their present bondage and provide them with an earthly kingdom.

No lamb is found on the Passover table, but only a bone, a shin bone: a pure lower unbroken joint of the front leg of the lamb is used. On the table at each place are glasses or cups of wine, and in the center of the table are four (4) special glasses or cups. Kosher rules specify that the wine must be red. The two glasses on the right are called “The cup of Elijah” and “The cup of Blessing”. The two cups on the left are called “The cup of Redemption” and “The Cup of Glory”. The two cups on the right point back to Egypt; the two on the left point forward to the final deliverance of the Jews and Messianic glory.

These four cups of wine also represent the fourfold promise, as recorded in Torah, Exodus 6:6: “Wherefore, say unto the children of Israel, ‘I am the LORD and will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you from your enemies, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with judgment’.”

At the head of the table, in a beautiful cover, are three (3) special Passover cakes. During the early part of the feast, the MIDDLE one, the second of the three, is broken in halves. On half is partaken by all the members of the family at the beginning of the meal. The other half is treated with special regard and reverently wrapped in a cloth and hidden away, or buried … usually between the two pillows on which the head of the family reclines … until the end of the meal.

The half, which is hidden away, is no longer considered just unleavened bread. It is called “APHIKOMEN’” and symbolizes the PASSOVER LAMB itself. The Feast and ceremony of the Passover last until midnight, when at the very last act of the Feast, the cake called APHIKOMEN is brought forth and eaten of by all the members of the family. It is, however, given out so that one small piece is left over, which is put away on the highest shelf in the house until the next year.

The customary explanation for the presence of the three cakes is that they represent the three groups in Israel: the Priests, the Levites, and the Israelites. But if that is the case, why is the middle cake broken, wrapped and hidden away (or buried) and then brought forth from the hiding place and shared among the members of the family? Why, also, is it called by the mysterious name APHIKOMEN? What has all this to do with the Levites?

The blood of the Savior’s brow reminds us of the blood on the top of the Passover door in Egypt. The blood on his nail-pierced hands reminds us of the blood on the side posts of the door. (Indeed the Israelites made a cross as the blood was placed on the door in Egypt.) Yeshua was our “Passover Lamb” who gave His life to save us from our sins. Truly, the “destroyer” will pass over us when we have the BLOOD of Christ applied to our hearts, families, and homes by FAITH!

There are still many Jewish people who do not know that the Lord Jesus is their Messiah and Savior: the true PASSOVER LAMB sacrificed for the sins of the world.

The days, in fact, the weeks before the Passover are busy ones for the Jewish people. The houses are cleaned from to[ to bottom. All dishes are scoured and thoroughly cleansed. The idea is to cleanse the leaven out of their houses. Leaven is a substance (as yeast) used to produce fermentation (as in dough). Leaven, in the passage pertaining to Passover in Exodus Chapter 12, represents sin. In other places in the Bible leaven stand for the multiplying effect of the kingdom of God.

The Apostle Paul had this in mind when he wrote to the Corinthians (1 Co. 5:6-8). "Your glorying is not good. Know you not that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, as you are unleavened. For even Christ [Messiah] our Passover is sacrificed for us; therefore, let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”

Those who can afford it will buy new dishes to take the place of the old. Even new clothes are bought for the family. The day before the Passover, crumbs of bread are put around in several prominent places of the house which the father and son sweep together into a wooden spoon. The son holds a candle while the father, with a little feather brush, sweeps the crumbs into the spoon. Then he takes a piece of cloth which he wraps around the spoon and the brush, and keeps them from Thursday until Friday when he builds a fire in a lonely spot when he burns the spoon with the crumbs. During this time he recites: “AND THE REDEEMER SHALL COME TO ZION AND TAKE AWAY UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB.” The spoon is called the “Crumb bearer” and pictures the Messiah, the “sin bearer”.

The Passover is celebrated in the home. After an early evening service in the synagogue, at sundown, the family gathers around the table, which is beautifully decorated. There is a place at the table for every for every member of the family including even the smallest child, for everyone is expected to take part in the feast and remain together from sunset until midnight.

The very first thing doe before any feast is the lighting of the candles. This is done by the woman of the house: one of the three (3) religious acts which is expected of the Jewish woman. The father, or head of the house, is dressed in a white coat and cap and reclines on two (2) pillows. Usually, the youngest boy leans on his chest, just as John leaned on Jesus’ chest.

The feast is begun by the head of the house saying a prayer, or benediction. “I AM NOW READY TO PREPARE AND FULFILL THE PRECEPT OF DRINKING THE FIRST CUP OF THE FOUR CUPS, FOR THE UNITING OF THE HOLY ONE, BLESSED BE HE, AND THE SHECHINAH, THROUGH THE ONE THAT IS HIDDEN AND CONCEALED.” The One “hidden and concealed” refers to the Messiah concerning Whom it is taught that: He was to come, to disappear, and then come again.

The boy who leans on the father’s bosom then asks a number of questions why this night differs from all other nights. And the father answers: “This is the night in which God, Lord of Hosts, redeemed and brought out our forefathers from the land of Egypt and from bondage.” [Deuteronomy 6:20-24]

Messiah Yeshua had told his disciples several times of His coming death; that He would go up to Jerusalem and there suffer many things from the Roman rulers and the chief priests, and then die. He told them that on the third day He would rise from the dead.

This made the disciples very sad, and they could hardly believe that such things should happen to Jesus. They thought that He would soon reign as a great king over the whole world and set up His beautiful and glorious kingdom of peace. They had learned much from the Old Testament, the Tenach, with the Lord’s instruction; they hoped they would have high places in the kingdom. Yeshua knew that it was the Father’s will for Him to die on the cross, the stake, for the sins of the world before the kingdom would be established.

Jesus and His disciples went up to Jerusalem just a few days before the great holy day [holiday] called PASSOVER. Luke 22:7 contains a synopsis of what happened during this time:

Then came the day of unleavened bread when the PASSOVER must be killed. Jesus sent Peter and John ahead, saying to them, “Go and prepare us the PASSOVER, that we may eat.” And they said to Jesus, “Where will you that we prepare?” And Jesus said unto them, ”Go into the city, and as you enter, there shall a man meet you, carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he enters.” Jesus told them to tell the man, the head of the house, “The Master says to you, ”Where is the guestroom where I shall eat the PASSOVER with my disciples?’” He shall show you a large upper room furnished; there make ready for the PASSOVER. The disciples went and found just as Jesus had told them, and they prepared for the PASSOVER.

Did you ever wonder how the disciples could find or identify this man among all the thousands of people flooding Jerusalem at this time? It was easy: Jesus said he would be carrying a pitcher of water! It was the women’s job to get the drinking water from several fountains outside of Jerusalem.

Every year, true Jews who believe in God, and many Christians, keep this great memorial feast of the PASSOVER. I baptized my youngest son, my seventh (7th) child, during PASSOVER (after the Seder meal). We filled up the bathtub and when he came up out of the water he was speaking in another language: the biblical experience of tongues. He received the baptism in the Holy Spirit as described in the New Testament (Brit Chadasha) in Acts 2:38.

The Jews can never forget the night when G-d, with His mighty power, delivered His people from slavery and the cruel king, Pharaoh, of Egypt. God sent one plague after another upon the Egyptians to punish them for their cruel treatment of the Israelites. More and more Pharaoh hardened his heart and would not let them go. Finally, God told Moses He would send one more plague. God would pass throughout the land of Egypt and the oldest child in every home would die, but He would make a way for all the Israelites (and whoever obeyed Him) to be saved.

Each family of the children of Israel was to take PERFECT LAMB and kill it. They were then to put the BLOOD over the top and on each side of the door of their house. When the LORD [Y-H-W-H] passed through the land of Egypt he would NOT kill any in those houses who had the BLOOD upon their doors. Exodus 12:12 in the Torah tells us: “And the BLOOD shall be to you for a token upon the houses where you are: and when I see the BLOOD, I will PASS OVER you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.”

“For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He sees the BLOOD upon the lintel [top door piece, or beam], and on the two side posts, the LORD will PASS OVER the door, and will NOT allow the destroyer to come into your houses to smite you.” [Exodus 12:23]

At midnight there was an awful cry heard throughout all the land of Egypt. “And it came to pass that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.” Only in the houses of Israel, where the BLOOD was on the door, was none dead!

Every day I speak the BLOOD of Messiah, God’s LAMB, over myself, my children clear to the end of my seed line, my family and relatives, my associates, those near and dear to me, plus my properties and whatever or whomever God has placed me over or given into my hands.

Every year at PASSOVER time there is a story told by Jewish people when they keep the PASSOVER feast. The story is NOT in the Bible but is handed down to subsequent generations. It is about one boy of the Israelites who was almost killed. This boy was the oldest son of the family and he knew what would happen if the BLOOD would not be put on the door. There was much excitement in every home and all were busy doing something: killing the little lamb, preparing and roasting it to eat. There were the vegetables to be made ready, the bread to be baked, and there was the packing to be done because everyone had to be ready to leave Egypt at midnight.

About 15 minutes before midnight the boy went to his father and asked, “Father, has the BLOOD been put on the door?” The father being very busy told the boy that it had been done and he should not trouble him with unnecessary questions. The boy asked the second time, and again the father assured him the BLOOD was on the door. But the boy just couldn’t forget what would happen to him if the BLOOD was not on the door, and 5 minutes before midnight he came once more to his father to ask if the BLOOD was really on the door.

The father now realized that the boy was frightened, so he took him to the door to assure him. To the father’s surprise the BLOOD was NOT on the door. Quickly the father looked for the BLOOD and found it in a bowl ready for use. He made a little brush of hyssop, rushed to the door, and applied the BLOOD to the door of their home. They hurried inside the house, closed the door, and just then “Swish-sh-sh” and the death angel PASSED OVER the house.
